The main beneficiary of the Project is the Ministry for Development of Economy of Ukraine. The Project started in 2020 and will last through 2024. The project brochure is available here . Read more Areas of activity Cooperation with the Governmental entities In February 2021 the Project identified 50 stakeholders, representing national and regional authorities, sectoral associations, national and international organizations, academia, research and development institutions, financial organizations, and IPs. All the stakeholders will be involved in EIP development in Ukraine. Cooperation with industrial parks In 2019 UNIDO used its EIP tool for selecting industrial parks to identify the parks with higher potential of becoming an EIP with the support of GEIPP in Ukraine. The Prioritization of pre-selected industrial parks was based on a set of qualitative criteria covering park management, environmental, economic, and social aspects, replicability, and visibility. Industrial parks GEIPP Ukraine invites the initiators and managers of industrial and eco-industrial parks (registered and unregistered) to join the project platform by filling the form . An Eco-Industrial Park is a community of businesses located on a common property in which businesses seek to achieve enhanced environmental, economic, and social performance through collaboration in managing environmental and resource issues. What is Industrial Symbiosis? Industrial symbiosis is a form of brokering to bring companies together in innovative collaborations, finding ways to use the waste from one as raw materials for another. It’s peculiar for Eco-Industrial Parks. Should every EIP have industrial symbiosis? Although many Eco-Industrial Parks have industrial symbiosis implemented, it’s still not the basis for EIP. The basis for EIP is proper management, zoning, and cooperation among tenants. What is the difference between IP and EIP?
