Despite all the obstacles and difficult times for our country, the University contributes to the education, upbringing and development of future generations. The glorious path of formation and development of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University has been passed by generations and dynasties of teachers, students and graduates, which has made it a national leader in education and science while preserving the traditions of high culture, social responsibility and corporate culture. Founded in 1918, the university was already a centre of education in the Yekaterinoslav province. Over the years, the history of the university has been associated with the names of many famous scientists, teachers and graduates from various fields of activity. The university has been providing economic education to students since the first years of its existence. According to the tradition of the universities of that time, specialists in economics were trained at the departments of political economy, which were structurally part of the law faculties. The establishment of this department in 1918 can be considered the beginning of university economic education in the region. Today, the Faculty of Economics, headed by Doctor of Economics, Professor Grynko T. V., continues the traditions of forming and developing economic thought. The educational process at the faculty is carried out in nine specialities, ten educational programmes at the first (bachelor's) level, eight educational programmes at the second (master's) level and five educational and scientific programmes at the third educational and scientific level of higher education. The faculty currently has more than 1000 students and 35 postgraduate students. According to the results of the rating assessment of the University's subdivisions for 2022, the Faculty of Economics ranks first in educational, scientific, organisational and educational activities among the faculties. In difficult times of war, the faculty works with inspiration on the educational, informational and volunteer fronts, defending the freedom, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
