The main directions of the work are focused on solution of priority fundamental and applied problems: working out genetic, biotechnological and physiological-biochemical methods for creation of highly adapted initial materials for the needs of vegetable and melon plants breeding; creation of competitive, resistant to a complex of biotic and abiotic factors hybrids and varieties of vegetable and melon plants that will be suitable for modern production technologies; formation of a gene bank of sources of vegetable and melon plants; development and improvement of technologies for their cultivation and seed production of different directions (intensive, organic, bioadaptive, resource-saving); scientific substantiation of mechanisms of vegetable agrocenoses functioning on the principles of preservation of soil fertility and reduction of technogenic load under new conditions of management and land relations; creation of modern technologies and recipes for processing of vegetable products on the basis of only natural, environmentally friendly components; scientific support of implementation of innovative developments in agro-industrial production. Місія інституту Місія Інституту як головної галузевої наукової установи — наукове забезпечення галузі овочівництва і баштанництва, методичне керівництво і координація спільних дій з формування єдиної науково-технічної політики для гарантування продовольчої безпеки в країні. Місія наукового закладу реалізується шляхом: Розробки концепції науково-технічної політики в галузі овочівництва і баштанництва; Координації галузевої програми наукових досліджень Національної академії аграрних наук України, методичне керівництво і виконання фундаментальних і прикладних досліджень, спрямованих на прискорення науково-технічного прогресу та розвитку галузі овочівницт Створення для зон України високопродуктивних гібридів і сортів овочевих і баштанних культур для відкритого і захищеного ґрунту, стійких до біотичних і абіотичних чинників з використанням світового генетичного потенціалу; Розробки енергозберігаючих, адаптивних і органічних технологій виробництва продукції овочевих і баштанних культур на продовольчі і насіннєві цілі; Впровадження, спільно з господарськими структурами, результатів наукових досліджень у практику агропромислового виробництва; Інформаційного та консультативного забезпечення наукової діяльності установ з питань овочівництва і баштанництва; Проведення публічних заходів: конференцій, семінарів, виставок, нарад, круглих столів, Днів поля з метою апробації і реклами наукових здобутків; Забезпечення роботи Вченої і спеціалізованої вченої ради, технічного комітету з питань стандартизації овочевої і баштанної продукції, методичних комісій, редколегії наукового тематичного збірника; Проведення курсів підвищення кваліфікації і стажування за напрямами: “Теоретичні аспекти селекції овочевих і баштанних видів рослин”, “Малозатратні технології вирощування овочевих і баштанних культур”; Підготовка наукових кадрів вищої кваліфікації за галуззю знань - аграрні науки та продовольство через діяльність аспірантури і докторантури; Здійснення творчого співробітництва з науковими установами НААН, інших міністерств і відомств, вищими навчальними закладами, науковими установами зарубіжних країн та іноземними інституціями у сфері виробництва сільськогосподарської продукції. Read more Advertisement View all advertisement 10.07.2023 З 17.07.2023 р. по 04.08.2023 р. відбудуться курси підвищення кваліфікації наукових працівників наукових установ НААН та науково-педагогічних працівників закладів вищої освіти МОН України за спеціальністю 201 – Агрономія «Сучасні науково-методологічні аспекти селекції, технології вирощування товарної продукції та насіння овочевих і баштанних культур». 12.05.2023 18 травня 2023 року, о 09:00 відбудеться Науково-практичний семінар «Особливості застосування біотехнологічних методів на різних етапах селекції овочевих культур». Thanks to the diligent work of scientists-breeders at the institute and at its research stations, there are created about 500 varieties and hybrids of vegetable and melon crops have already been. Now, in the State Register of Plant Varieties, suitable for distribution in Ukraine, there are 217 varieties and hybrids. The varieties of the institute breeding have excellent qualities. they are technological and suitable for canning; pickling, making juices and jams, and the most importantly, they are adapted to local growing conditions. Scientists of the institute, using modern biotechnological methods, work on creating of dihaploid homozygous lines of vegetable plants, microclone reproduction of valuable breeding samples, study of new phytopreparations of various functional purposes, work out methods for acceleration researches in breeding and seed production, improve modern energy-saving technologies for growing of seedlings, commercial products in the open and sheltered grounds and original seeds of vegetable and melon plants. There is conducted the elaboration of complex fertilizer systems, plant protection against diseases, pests and weeds, working out standards for vegetable-melon production, technology for its processing and storage. The methods of intensification of economic relations in commodity vegetable and seed production, production of elite seed of vegetable and melon plants varieties and hybrids are developed. Modern technologies in vegetable growing, developed at the institute, allow to get from 1 hectare 75-100 tons of cabbage, 30-35 tons of cucumber, 60-90 tons of tomatoes, 50-60 tons of onions, 40-60 tons of table beet, 50-60 tons of carrots, 30-40 tons of watermelon with significant preservation of resources, increase of economic efficiency of production. Organic technologies of vegetable growing are being developed on the basis of biologized crop rotations with sowing of green manure crops, overlapping cultivation and the formation of multicultural plantings, use of microbial preparations, biological means of plants protection and minimum ways of soil treatment. The Institute trains highly qualified personnel. It has postgraduate study in the field of knowledge 20 "Agrarian Sciences and Food" by the specialty 201 ‑ Agronomy. There is a specialized academic council for the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations. Development of the Institute make up scientifically-technical base on conducting vegetable and melon growing in Ukraine. Scientists take part in the working out concepts of vegetable growing development, preparation and publication of books, guidelines, manuals, professional interdepartmental thematic scientific collection "Vegetable and melon growing". The staff of the institution has been awarded the Honorable Diploma of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Diplomas of the NAAS of Ukraine, diplomas of international exhibitions and fairs, gold medals in the nomination "Leader of Agroindustrial Complex of Ukraine", it is the winner of the contest "The Best Product of the Year".
