On February 6-8, the presentation of the annual monitoring of legislation, which is being conducted by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine with the support of the EU Project Pravo-Justice for the fifth year in a row, will take place. The presentation of the report for 2022, which covers the analysis of 17 problems of legal regulation of various spheres, will take place according to the following plan: February 6 - issues of the judiciary, judicial system, criminal justice, as well as the system of free legal aid in the context of the implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On Mediation"; February 7 - the issue of execution of court decisions; February 8 - issues of bankruptcy and forensic expertise

Instruments of support for war crimes victims and witnesses in the criminal justice process in Ukraine

The round table “Instruments of support for war crimes victims and witnesses in the criminal justice process in Ukraine” organized by the EU Project Pravo-Justice was attended by representatives of the judiciary and law enforcement system, and international experts. In particular, Iryna Didenko, prosecutor of the Prosecutor General’s Office, spoke. She noted that currently, Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are facing major challenges, particularly in working with victims. According to her, the General Prosecutor’s Office has already developed working procedures for investigating war crimes. However, there must be serious legislative framework in place to that end

Relevant jurisprudence and practical matters in applying pretrial sanation in Ukraine were in the spotlight of the discussions during the round table held by EU Project “Pravo-Justice” on January 31. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the banking community, the public sector of the economy, bankruptcy trustees, advocates. Considering that the issue raised is important for the economy, EU Project “Pravo-Justice” will monitor further changes and developments in jurisprudence on how pre-trial sanation is applied

The EU Project Pravo-Justice together with the law firm Sayenko Kharenko and the Association of Lawyers of Ukraine held a round table "Prospects for the introduction of group lawsuits in Ukraine". The participants of the event were representatives of the judicial system of Ukraine, lawyers, and scientists. Oleksandr Vasyuk, People's Deputy of Ukraine, and member of the Committee on Legal Policy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine thanked for the organization of the round table and emphasized the importance of joint work of legislators and experts on topics important for the European integration process

The EU Project Pravo-Justice, the State Judicial Administration, and the NGO All-Ukrainian Association of Court Employees have signed the Memorandum of Understanding. The purpose of the Memorandum is to reconfirm cooperation in areas of common interest, alongside joint efforts aimed at the development of institutional capacity and human resources. In particular, it is about the joint introduction of best practices for the implementation of ideas on the development of justice; the establishment of international professional ties for the exchange of productive solutions to improve the conditions for ensuring the administration of justice; and the representation of the court employees and the judiciary in the process of formation of state policy
