Facts and figures The enterprise, which had a long off-period several years ago, not only restored its production, but is steadily building up the pace of development. See for yourself. In 2019, XTZ produced 585 units of equipment (an increase of 12% compared to the previous year) and sold 638 units (an increase of 16%). The company's revenue grew by 22% and amounted to almost UAH 800 million. Today, the company employs more than 1.100 people, and the average wages of a factory worker is UAH 10 thousand (at the beginning of last year the figure was UAH 7.8 thousand). Ukrainian farmers are still the main buyers of domestic tractors. Nevertheless, the company continues to develop markets in neighboring countries and beyond. The plant has installed the new line of chemical-thermal treatment of metals produced by the world-famous company Ipsen (USA, Germany), which significantly improved the quality of heat treatment of spare parts, also, this year XTZ launched a new section of spare part processing line. For this, the enterprise purchased the equipment from Japan and Germany. A robotic 3D laser system for a more accurate metal processing was successfully tested, and will now replace the existing lines, and new band saws allowed the plant to switch from hot metal cutting. The use of new technological production lines, modern equipment, energy-saving technologies allowed the company to significantly reduce energy costs: electricity consumption was reduced by 20%, and gas consumption decreased by half. XTZ – the legendary and the only in the former CIS manufacturer of both wheeled and tracked tractors –managed to not only increase the number of produced machinery, while drastically improving the quality, in a little more than a year of work after forced downtime, but also surprised those present with their new products. One of those was XTZ-248K.20 series wheel tractor equipped with the engine of the well-known global manufacturer FPT-Iveco N67. This power unit is a six-cylinder, 6.7-liter turbo diesel with a CommonRail system (the fuel is constantly under high pressure in the fuel line common for all injectors). Compared to the engines currently installed on the XTZ, the new engine from FPT-Iveco has a better fuel efficiency (from 10 to 15%), in addition, these models are the best in their class in terms of maintenance intervals - the oil should be changed every 600 hours. At the same time, the plant notes that the choice of fuel plays an important role - the engine will not work on a diesel fuel of poor quality. In addition to the power unit, XTZ serial model had a number of upgrades, such as: an upgraded 12/4 gearbox with an improved oil purification system, where a new filter with an extended service life (up to 500 hours) is used. The bypass valve and the filling neck were also brought to an accessible place, and the modified hydraulic and mounted systems allow to use a tractor with high-speed domestic and foreign agricultural equipment. It should be noted that earlier the inside of the cabin has undergone major changes: the sprung seat can now be adjusted to the driver's weight, the steering column is also regulated. To improve the cabin soundproofing, the pedal layout has been changed. There is also a sun blind and air conditioning. The layout of the controls for attached equipment was revised, the brake crane was improved. The additional equipment presented by XTZ - the ballast weight (which can be ordered together with a tractor as an option) proved to be of a great interest among the exhibition visitors. One version of its installation was the rear frame in the cross-wheel space, and the second one - as type-setting parts - in a wheel disk niche. But this wasn’t the only newcomer XTZ presented. A tracked tractor XTZ-181.20 was brought from Kharkiv for the demonstration, it also received a number of upgrades. "The production capacity ranges from 80 to 150 tractors per month, the peak capacity of the plant makes it possible to produce up to 180 machines per month, and the plant is planning to produce more than 800 tractors in 2018. At present the enterprise has already formed a portfolio of orders, implying the sale of about 300 tractors in the domestic and more than 500 tractors in foreign markets," the plant's management notes. The company participates in the state program, according to which the domestic agricultural enterprises will be compensated for 25-40% of the cost of tractors produced by XTZ starting from February 2018. Earlier, compensation was 20%, in this program the plant sold 87 tractors for a total of UAH 127.7 million in the second half of 2017. As it was informed earlier, the largest machine-building enterprise, starting its history in 1930, was acquired by Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy in 2016. As a result of the analysis of the obtained data*, the following was established: - the use of doubled wheels allows to increase the tractive effort without exceeding the permissible slippage (15% in accordance with state standards GOST 27021-86) by almost 70% (42 kN instead of 25 kN); - the use of ballast weight allows to increase the tractive effort without exceeding the permissible slippage (15% in accordance with state standards GOST 27021-86) by more than 80% (46 kN instead of 25 kN); - the use of ballast weight combined with doubled wheels allows to increase the tractive effort without exceeding the permissible slippage (15% in accordance with state standards GOST 27021-86) by more than 2.5 times (66 kN instead of 25 kN); - XTZ-280T has demonstrated tractive effort without exceeding the permissible slippage (5% in accordance with state standards GOST 27021-86) more than 3 times (80 kN instead of 25 kN) on the ground with high humidity (20%). Thus, the use of ballast weight and of doubled wheels increases tractor's efficiency during agricultural works by 20%, and also significantly widens the range of agricultural equipment modularized with tractors XTZ-242K, 243K.20 and 280T. *Note: calculations were carried out according to data that were obtained empirically using wheel speed sensors, three-dimensional acceleration sensors and other inertial-measuring devices, as well as a track control system using GPS navigation. According to experts and visitors of the exhibition, Kharkiv agricultural machines demonstrated the best technical characteristics and pleased their potential buyers. Plant workers brought two machines to the exhibition, where the largest domestic and foreign machinery manufacturers usually demonstrate the abilities of their agricultural horses - KhTZ-242K.20 series tractor with a 240 hp engine and KhTZ-243K.20 (250 hp), which complies with the European Stage IIIA environmental standards. The exposition was all the more interesting, because the guests, as well as, of course, competitors, could evaluate what the updated KhTZ machines were capable of in their work. And as a subtext – to show what the company achieved in a relatively short period after recovery. KhTZ tractor did not disappoint: during the exhibition it showed better results than many other more expensive and more sophisticated machines manufactured by the industry representatives. Field demonstration of the equipment took three days. Kharkiv Tractor Plant worked with agricultural implements of domestic producers, as well as of the foreign leader Lemken (Germany).
