July 6, 1958 - This is the day when the history of VDNG began.
Built as a majestic site of achievement, it covers 286 hectares of land and counts 180 buildings and structures, 20 of which are protected as historical and cultural monuments of Ukraine. This masterpiece of the Soviet neo-Baroque architecture becomes a true symbol of the rapid post-war reconstruction and confidence in the country’s bright future.
Right now, VDNG is undergoing many changes, gradually becoming center of culture and innovation. It is here that a unique seasonal amusement park “Zymova Kraina na VDNG” was created with an enormous skating rink, slides, the central office of the Ukrainian Santa Claus, horseback riding routes, ice sculpture park and winter fairs, a first for Ukraine.
As warm weather comes, winter activities give way to another entertaining project – “Summer at VDNG”. It combines: swing and rope parks, a concert hall and outdoor stages, spherical cinema, butterfly exhibition, outdoor pool, horseback riding school, "Hammock Garden” recreation area, hubs, quest activities and recreation zones.
The venue is also home to Atlas Weekend, the largest music festival in the country, and the 19th pavilion has recently become home to the Courage Bazaar with its charity events.
But even more is yet to come.
Time is steadily moving forward. And we follow it.
