From August 9 to 10, a technical tour around Chornobyl NPP was arranged for a group of Rivne Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) special potential senior staff pool.
As RNPP turbine shop employee Yevhen Burakov has said, the insights into the work progress of our nuclear power plants is a purposeful policy. This visit is the fourth group forwarded by RNPP top management within the development of special potential senior staff pool.

On April 6, the Chornobyl NPP was visited by the first pool of participants of a large international event – “SESAM 2021 Poliklinika” (Small European Students of Architecture Meeting).
About 40 young students and architects from Ukraine, Belarus, Ireland, Latvia, Russia, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium and France visited the ChNPP Main Building and the Shelter Observation Pavilion.

As of 06.08.2021 (14:00) 452 COVID-19 cases were confirmed among the SSE ChNPP staff.
Among them:
• 440 persons were discharged recovered;
• 8 persons are under ambulatory treatment, course of disease is positive;
• 2 persons are under stationary treatment in Chernihiv hospital, course of disease is positive;
• 2 persons passed away.
1 suspected COVID-19 case
Among staff 1 person was identified as a contact with the persons who had tested positive for COVID-19 by PCR.
87 PCR tests were made under the Contract on PCR diagnostics concluded between the SSE ChNPP and the Chernihiv Regional Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The first concrete storage module (CSM) at a new interim storage facility for spent nuclear fuel (i.e. ISF-2) was filled on July 29.
This event is another achievement in operation of ISF-2. It confirms that the fuel transportation is performed in line with the adopted procedure and in compliance with all safety standards.

On 29 July, 2021, a Panel of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU) approved the Conclusion of the nuclear and radiation safety (NRS) state expert review of ChNPP’s document “Safety Analysis Report for NSC-SO Complex.”
“The Shelter Object is unique. It represents a part of the Chornobyl NPP industrial site along with a number of constructions created from the damaged structures of a former Unit 4 which lost its functions as a Power Unit; and from new constructions and systems which were built after the accident of 26 April 1986, and serve to monitor and correct the post-accident situation, including the mitigation of radiation consequences of the beyond-design-basis accident owing to blocking the effects of nuclear and radiological hazards on people,” — stated Head of SNRIU Hryhorii Plachkov at the opening of the Panel meeting.
