The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is the only independent organization that brings together top management and television media leaders from around the world who gather to share ideas, discuss common issues and to support new directions for the future of television industry (500 members of the Academy from over 400 companies).

Ukrainian television industry representatives are also Academy members.

The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences established the International Emmy® Award - the most prestigious international award in the field of television, which annually recognizes the best works and professionals around the world.

In 2008 Kyiv hosted the European semi-final of the International Emmy® Awards 2008, which was organized and initiated by the Television Industry Committee.

Television entries of the European semi-final of the Award in Kyiv were assessed by the international jury of 13 members (including six from Ukraine), comprising representatives of film and television industry, filmmakers, and the media.

After lengthy discussions, entries that were nominated for the final round of voting were chosen.

“This is a great honour, as well as responsibility, for the first time in Ukraine to host so respected and internationally known television organization. As a host, we hope that your stay in Ukraine and the work of the international jury was pleasant, and Ukrainian television industry took another step forward to be an active member of the big global television family” - Ms. Kotenko, TIC’s Executive Director.
