Richard Campbell Architect, Consultant, Podcaster, Advisor, Canada Richard Campbell wrote his first line of code in 1977. His career has spanned the computing industry both on the hardware and software sides, development and operations. He was a co-founder of Strangeloop Networks, acquired by Radware in 2013 and was on the board of directors of Telerik that was acquired by Progress Software in 2014. Today he is a consultant and advisor to several successful technology firms and is the founder and chairman of Humanitarian Toolbox (www.htbox.org), a public charity that builds open-source software for disaster relief. Richard is also the host of two podcasts: .NET Rocks! (www.dotnetrocks.com) the Internet Audio Talkshow for .NET developers and RunAs Radio (www.runasradio.com), a weekly show for IT Professionals. #technologies #career The Next Decade of Software Development It's 2020 - a new decade! How will software development evolve in the 2020s? Join Richard Campbell as he explores the landscape of technology that will have a huge impact on development over the next ten years. What new devices are coming? Will Artificial Intelligence take over everything? How will people connect to the web in the next ten years? And what about Quantum Computing? All these topics and more will shape our future! Alexey Golub Senior Software Developer, Svitla Systems, Ukraine Open source developer, blogger & speaker. Loves building frameworks, automating things, creating unique experiences. Interested in niche and obscure technologies. Believes clean code is a business goal. #methodologies #patterns #architecture #toolset Fallacies of Unit Testing As developers, we were always told that software should be designed with testability in mind. That code is only as good as it's testable. But what if I told you that you don't have to create an interface and mock every single class in your application to ensure that it works correctly? What if your confidence in code didn't have to hinge on the belief in flawed clean code software design cargo cult? I believe it's about time we've advanced our perception to re-establish how we should test our software in 2020. Come to this talk to forget about pointless acronyms like SOLID, TDD, etc and (re-)learn what testing really is about. I will show you how you can design your software in a way that isn't dictated by external factors like tests while still providing the means to write them in a fast and deterministic fashion. Alexandre Felipe Malavasi Cardoso Senior Software Developer, Ireland I've been working with software development over the last 13 years. In the meantime, I participated in many projects as a technical leader and software developer, delivering projects using Microsoft Technologies and other different players. I have completed two degrees, the first one in IT for Business and another one in System Analyses. Also, I have done two master degrees in Software Engineering with Agile Methods emphasis and in Software Development process. I got Microsoft certifications in Azure and Web Development technologies. In my free time, I usually spend my time helping the technical community, voluntarily, mainly organizing IT events. Also, I'm a speaker about Web development topics and I'm a writer in technical blogs in Brazil and Europe. Currently I'm based on Dublin, Ireland. #cross-patform #toolset Creating multi-platform applications with Blazor In this talk I'll talk about how we can use Blazor to create cross-platform applications that runs literally every where: Linux, MacOS and Windows. Also, I'll show how to use Blazor to create not only Web applications, but native mobile applications for Android and iOS as well. Dario Kondratiuk Tech Lead, MultiTracks.com, Argentina Web Developer with 15+ years on the web industry. Author of Puppeteer-Sharp and Playwright-Sharp. He is also a Puppeteer and Playwright contributor. Passionate about C#, the web, remote work, and the open-source community. #career You can also be a hero You can also be part of the community. You have something that makes you unique. You have something to give. This talk is about the community. About how a simple programmer like me (and you) can make a difference in the community. I will share my journey from being a “community consumer” to participating in Stack Overflow, having my own blog and an open-source project with over 300k downloads. #toolset #methodologies The future of browser automation with Playwright Sharp Explore all the possibilities that Playwright and browser automation tools bring to developers: UI Testing, web scraping, PDFs generation and more. Tamás Srancsik Data Analyst, Bitrise, Угорщина Tamas is a senior data analyst who gathered expertise in the market research and the software domains. Currently he is working as a senior data analyst at the Continuous Integration and Delivery startup, Bitrise. #ml #data #devops Real-life anomaly detection with ML.NET Maybe you would expect a data analyst talk on a Python or a data science conference but not presenting a case study in .NET technologies. With ML.NET and .NET Core the word changed a lot in this aspect as well. Besides, you can never talk about Machine Learning without the business. After a short introduction to startups' favorite business model and time series analysis, we will show how easily it is to build an application with ML.NET to alert business stakeholders saving valuable weeks for your company to react. This approach can be easily adapted to DevOps, IoT or other development areas. Sean Farmar Particular Software Solution Architect, Ірландія Sean Farmar holds the world record for answering the most NServiceBus questions - even more than Udi :-). With over 20 years of experience, he specializes in providing simple solutions for complex business requirements using NServiceBus and applying SOA principles inspired by Udi Dahan. As a solution architect with Particular Software, the creators of NServiceBus, Sean provides support, training and consulting for customers using NServiceBus and the Particular Platform. #architecture #methodologies #patterns DevOps and Microservices Better Together We all want to get out of the rot of traditional SDLC, waterfall, big ball of mud... We want to be faster, more flexible, providing more value upfront, WINNING :), have short feedback loops, be able to work in small cross-functional teams To do that we want to be able to do continues delivery and continues deployment which leads us to what is described in the DevOps handbook... To do that: You should be able to reliably (tested, secure….) Deploy small units of work to production (reduce the risk in deploying new code to production (roll forward, blue-green )) Have many teams work in parallel autonomously across the system functions (business). Decrease lead time of features and bug fixes to production. This is all well and good but when we try to get there we keep getting pulled back by our architecture. When we look at successful DevOps transformations we see that architecture is one of the significant factors of success. In this talk, we will cover Identifying boundaries, monolith decomposition and bounded contexts and how we can build better microservices so our DevOps will be a win :) Стас Лебеденко Software Developer, Sigma Software Senior, Україна Stas Lebedenko is a Microsoft Azure MVP, speaker and author, an active member of Ukraine .NET/Azure communities and co-organizer of Odesa Microsoft .NET user group. He is driving solution architecture changes and writing code @SigmaSoftware. Azure Serverless fan and positive geek. #methodologies #patterns #architecture #azure Using distributed transactions via Azure Functions Transactions and eventual consistency are essential components of any distributed serverless systems online. There are few crucial things, such as the implementation of transaction isolation on an application level and a proper compensation logic for rollback operation. And risks of dirty reads and lost updates should be taken in to account too. Join my session to get ideas on how to implement distributed transactions and avoid mistakes along the way. I will conclude the talk with an interactive demo to demonstrate how a sample system can handle service interruptions and process transaction rollback.
