WORKSHOPS @ ICTERI 2016

We are happy to announce that ICTERI 2016 will host the following Workshops:

  • 5th International Workshop on Information Technologies in Economic Research (ITER 2016)
    • Workshop Web Page: http://www.icteri.org/workshop-ITER2016
    • Organizers:
      • Vitaliy Kobets (vkobets [at] kse [dot] org [dot] ua), Kherson State University, Ukraine
      • Tatiana Paientko (tpayentko [at] mail [dot] ru), Kyiv National Economic University, Ukraine
    • Abstract. The use of ICT in all types of economic simulation is becoming increasingly popular in the last years, producing a wide variety of interesting applications such as investment portfolio optimization, financial time series, stock ranking, risk-return analysis. Agent-based policy analysis is used to study the impact of environmental dynamics on economic evolution. Experimental economics make use of evolving artificial societies for simulations in evolutionary economy, of economic competition, etc. This is done to select the models which best fit to strategies optimization and economic policies development. ICT use expansion has a very big influence on business process modeling, e-commerce, economic education, and economic research as these technologies enable the use of computing power for modeling, processing, and presentation of economic data. The implementation of IT in economic research is a bridge between researchers and practitioners worldwide working on such diverse areas as IT and economics. The ITER Workshop is devoted to the two main themes: (i) The application of IT in business, economics, finance, and research; and (ii) the economics of research and development in IT industry. The Workshop aims at (i) helping economists to use IT in economic research, simulation, and forecasting; and (ii) enhancing the use of IT for solving coordination and communication problems in a mixed economy environment.

  • 2nd International Workshop on Theory of Reliability and Markov Modeling for Information Technologies (TheRMIT 2016)
    • Workshop Web Page: http://www.icteri.org/workshop-TheRMIT2016
    • Organizers:
      • Vyacheslav Kharchenko (v_s_kharchenko [at] ukr [dot] net), National Aerospace University “KhAI”, Centre for Safety Infrastructure-Oriented Research and Analysis, Ukraine
      • Elena Zaitseva (elena [dot] zaitseva [at] fri [dot] uniza [dot] sk), Žilina University, Slovakia
      • Bogdan Volochiy (bvolochiy [at] ukr [dot] net), Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ukraine
    • Abstract. Unprecedented development and implementation of information technologies and systems (ITSs) into business, research, industry and transport including critical domains (aerospace, railway, automotive systems, NPP I&Cs, health systems and IT-infrastructures, etc) cause increasing dependence of humanity, environment and technical complexes security and safety on ITS reliability and dependability. There is conflicting philosophy of specialists on mathematical theory of reliability (MTR) and engineers who must assess and assure reliability and derivative ITS attributes. First of them usually consider MTR as a part of probability theory and not enough taking into account challenges of engineering practice. IT-engineers are concerned with assurance of required reliability for developed software and systems according to project specifications and standards. For some of modern ITs are not established assessment techniques, in particular, software components and systems reliability, dependability of cloud computing, IoT applications and software defined networks, so on. Hence, building an effective bridge between the mathematical reliability, including widely applied Markovian chain-based methods (MMs) and the engineering practice of their application considering ITS features is very important. We invite researchers, engineers and experts to discuss problems of development, adaptation and application of modern MTR and MMs for assessment of ITs and creation of dependable and resilient ITSs.

  • International Workshop on Professional Retraining and Life-Long Learning using ICT: Person-oriented Approach (3L-Person 2016)
    • Workshop Web Page: http://www.icteri.org/workshop-3L-Person
    • Organizers:
      • Oleksandr Burov (burov [dot] alexander [at] gmail [dot] com), Institute of Information Technologies and Learning Tools of NAPS of Ukraine
      • Svitlana Lytvynova (s_litvinova [at] list [dot] ru), Institute of Information Technologies and Learning Tools of NAPS of Ukraine
    • Abstract. This Workshop is designed to evaluate new and emerging technologies in education, learning environments and methods that have to satisfy life-long learning of person , from school age to retirement. It covers such topics as: evaluation of a human (accounting schoolchildren, youth and adults features) abilities and individual propensities, individual trajectory of learning, adaptive learning strategy and design, recommendation on curriculum design, day-to-day support for individual’s learning, assessment of a human learning environment and performance, recommendation regards vocational retraining and/or further carrier etc.). All topics allowing for the appropriate ICTs that could break down the time, space and cultural differences of learners and teachers. The specific goal of this activity is to facilitate a broader understanding of the promise and pitfalls of these technologies and working (learning/teaching) environments in global education/development settings, with special regard to the human as subject in the system and to the collaboration of humans and technical, didactic and organizational subsystems. The Workshop should lead to identification of areas in which coordinated research efforts are required to expand an understanding of these network technologies, their effectiveness, the potential risks, and the potential benefits of new ways to educate, learn and collaborate. It should also inform the educators about current options for global education in near future.
