The concentration of iron should not exceed 15 ppm. Manganese Ecomix ® is one of the most reliable tools for reducing manganese. The concentration of manganese in the purified water should not exceed 3 ppm. Organic matter Ecomix ® effectively reduces colour, tannins, and chemical oxygen demand. Maximum allowed influent COD is O 2 (80 ppm KMnO 4 ). Ammonium Concentration of ammonium in purified water should not exceed 4 ppm. Hardness Ecomix ® softens water with hardness of up to 45°dH (750 ppm CaCO 3 ). Iron is removed in the following way: ADSORPTION — OXIDATION — ACTIVE LAYER FORMATION — AUTOCATALYTIC OXIDATION. Due to this process FerroSorb® removes the most common forms of iron in raw water: ferrous, ferric, organic, and colloidal. The active layer of Ferrosorb® contains active sites for removal of manganese. Proven alternative to aeration and chlorination.
