National Outreach is a department at Ukraine Crisis Media Center that that was established in summer 2014 with the objective to support information activities in the regions of Ukraine as well as to support integration of eastern and southern parts of the country into the all-Ukrainian information space. The range of activities of the department is the following: meetings with regional journalists, representatives of the civil society organizations, local authorities, activists and volunteers, experts and opinion leaders. National Outreach studies the needs of the region, conditions for cooperation and concentrates all efforts on solving tasks in the information sphere. The most successful activities with journalists from the regions that the department holds are: organization of press tours, group interviews, study visits, trainings and discussions on important social issues. National Outreach aims at spreading objective information on the territory of Ukraine, providing access to this information for citizens from across the country, fight the Russian propaganda by means of high quality information product and perceives open independent media platforms in the regions as a tool to implement single information policy. Throughout its work, the department has established contact with civil society organizations in Severodonetsk, Kherson, Mariupol and Mykolaiv, where they helped to create regional media centers.
