An astrophysical conference is held annually at ONU. This year it was the sixth Gamow international conference “New Trends in Astrophysics, Cosmology and Radioastronomy after Gamow”, which was jointly held with the nineteenth Gamow summer school “Astronomy and beyond: Astrophysics, Cosmology, Gravitation, Cosmomicrophysics, Radioastronomy and Astrobiology", August 11-18 in Odesa.

From 10 to 22 june 2019 year Odesa Mechnikov National University, Danylo Zabolotny Institute of Microbiology and Virology, Vinograds’kyj Society of Microbiologists of Ukraine and Odesa Society of Biologists and Biotechnologists hold  ХІІ International School-Conference “Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology”. Main thematically direction - Molecular Microbiology.

December 7th and 8th UMSA-Odesa jointly with the Student Council of the ONU of the Faculty of Biology and with the support of Social Justice organized on the basis of the Odessa National University named after I. I. Mechnikov lectures from the famous molecula.club for medical students and biologists.  The topic of the lecture was pre-selected by voting more than a hundred listeners, and for a pleasant coincidence, the choice fell on the main field of scientific activity Elie Metchnikoff - was chosen precisely the immunological block of the cycle.

Victor Dosenko and Yuri Zhigarev will come to Odessa to tell us about one of the most mysterious systems of our body - immunity. What is it like? Who are those antigens? What did Ralph Steinman get the Nobel Prize for? And about many other things, look at the screen of 27 audiences at the Faculty of Biology of the ONU. Mechnikov on Friday and Saturday this week!

Friday, 30.11.18 successfully passed the lecture, where we were able to dispel myths about HIV, talked about the origin, structure, diagnosis and modern treatment methods.

International ties are becoming part of our everyday lives. We are increasingly not only traveling abroad for congresses, conferences, internships, etc., but also accept foreign guests at our university in same formats. It is unlikely that there will be a faculty that would not have such connections.

But today it is about work at the Odessa University by Jason David Hans - a Fulbright Program partisipant, a professor at the Faculty of Family Studies, editor-in-chief of the journal “Family Science Review” (University of Kentucky), - who for the second time worked with students, doctoral students and lecturers in our Faculty of Psychology.
In the first Fulbright term, Professor Jason Hans taught two semesters in English with lectures on family problems and sexual relations for students of different faculties. Certificate of graduation was received by 27 students.
This academic year began on September 7, 2017, with a public lecture by Professor D. Hans "Scientific publications in the USA: myths and reality" at the regular meeting of the psychology section at the Odessa House of Scientists.

On April 17, 2018, the fifteenth scientific students English-speaking conference of the biological faculty "English in touch with science" was held.

 At the 153rd anniversary of the ONU, the Rectorate, the Trade Union and the Culture Center announce the Review-competition of creative teams and individual performers among students and staff of the I.I. Mechnikov ONU Department.

Fourth-year students of the specialty "International economic relations" of Odessa National I.I.Mechnikov University have successfully completed the module on cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, which was taught by the experts of the EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) (http://eubam.org/).

From 2018, at the Faculty of Biology of the Odessa I.I. Mechnykov National University opened a set for a new specialty - 206 «Landscape gardening» for the preparation of specialists of the first (Bachelor) level of higher education. Graduates will receive an educational qualification - a Bachelor of landscape gardening. The term of study - 3 years 10 months. Licensed volume - 60 people.

Students of the Odessa National University took part in the Seminar for Democracy "MehrWERT Demokratie" in Bavaria on 13-24 November, 2017. The program of the seminar was very interesting, including workshops, presentations and case studies devoted to the values of democracy, meeting the mayor of the city Regensburg, visits to the parliament of the Bavaria in Munich and other. The XIV Congress of the Society of Ukrainian Microbiologists with the participation of ukrainian and foreign scientists was held by Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University from 11 to 15 September 2017. More than 200 microbiologists, virologists, biotechnologists from Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Italy, Moldova, and Belarus attended the Congress.
