The date of applications acceptance completion will be announced additionally. Register as a Contestant The contestant of the International Festival-contest «Master-Jam» can be any age, but the main condition is to be an improviser, as it is an improvising skills contest. To register as an applicant you are to fill in the form and note your personal and contact info, including phone number, e-mail address, postal address for sending festival correspondence (diplomas etc.), your press-release in the field «About yourself» and other data. The possibility of uploading 2 contestant’s pictures is available in the registration form in the *.jpg or *.png format (portrait). Files have to be no less than 500 Kb and no more than 2 Mb. It is important to provide pictures, satisfying these parameters. Choose a Category You can take part in the contest just in proposed nominations (instrumental categories including vocals). The possibility of choosing your nomination is provided in the registration from. To choose your instrument from the list of jazz orchestra instruments it is enough to put a tick into one of the check-boxes opposite to the corresponding title. After that you are to go to the next step — sending the links to the presentation video-files for the organizers of the Festival-contest for downloading. (Please note: registering for the contest, participants agree to the right of the MJF organizing committee to use all provided materials for festival purposes, such as creation of promotional videos, publication links to provided pictures, videos and press releases on social networks etc.) Upload Video-Presentations A registered participant of the Master-Jam Fest Online Preselection Internet round can provide for the contest no more than 3 video-records of his (her) improvisations. It is important that your videos show your ability to improvise in a variety of jazz styles represented in MJF competition program. It is accepted to use any devices and software for video recording. It is not the quality of the video-presentations assessed on the contest, but improvising skills of a participant. But it should be taken into account that the quality of records may influence the perception of compositions and as a result the final evaluation of jury and online-vote for «the People’s Choice Award», because the possibility of putting rating marks for the site visitors is available at the selection tour. ATTENTION, IT IS IMPORTANT! Next How to Make and Send us Your Video-Presentation ATTENTION, IT IS IMPORTANT! Each video-presentation mustn’t last longer than 3 minutes and have a size more than 300 Mb. The name of the file has to be written in Latin in the format below: MJF|2014-Internet|Round-the_Name_of_the_Category_in_English-Name-Surname-Country-the_Number_of_the_Record. Example: MJF|2014-Internet|Round-Saxophone-Ivan-Sidorov-Ukraine-01.avi MJF|2014-Internet|Round-Saxophone-Ivan-Sidorov-Ukraine-02.avi MJF|2014-Internet|Round-Saxophone-Ivan-Sidorov-Ukraine-03.avi In the case if only one record of a participant is uploaded, its ordinal number (01) still has to be indicated in the name of a video-file. You have to be registered at this service to be able to do it. If it is impossible to do it by any reason, you can upload it to one of the next offered services for files storage and exchange: http://www.sendspace.com/ или http://narod.yandex.ru/ When completing the special form (the third step) you have to paste a link for a video on YouTube or the received links for downloading files from file sharing services above to send them to the certain nomination of the contest. It is desirable to upload the image for the cover of the composition 150×150 px size. If such an image isn’t uploaded by the participant it will be formed automatically from screenshots of the video-presentations. Previous Next Upload Video-Presentations After checking the compliance of the received files to the technical requirements the committee of the Festival-contest will upload video-presentations to the MJF channel on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/MasterJamFest Participants’ video-presentations will be allowed for watching on the Master-Jam Festival website in the appropriate category, website visitors will have a possibility to leave their comments and put rating marks, and also cast their votes within the People’s Choice Award voting. Previous Final Stage of the Festival-Contest Currently participants’ video-presentations are being accepted on the website. Jury composition, «Master-Jam Fest-2014» finalists’ names, date and the venue of the Festival Final will be announced later. Travel, accommodation, feeding expenses during the final round as well as getting acquainted with the «Jazz city»-2014 will be covered from the Festival budget. Simultaneously with the start of the jury work, online voting for the People’s Choice Award will be opened, and summarizing of its results will coincide with the final round of the Festival.
