ARTKB – is a European full-cycle hardware product development bureau: from idea to mass production, from design to certification and worldwide logistics. We specialize in the development of consumer electronics, household appliances, wearable devices, homeware, wireless devices, gadgets and the simplest household goods. We have our own workshop for the needs of developers: milling, turning, drilling, engraving, grinding and cutter-grinding machines, drum saw, soldering station, two 3D printers and assembly production. Design-research, marketing research, field tests, selection of suppliers and contractors – these are the steps called to predetermine the destiny of the future product. The main goal of a design research is to give a holistic picture of how person interacts with the environment and, based on this, consider all aspects of a new product design. scroll down Design «Industrial design is not an art and not an instrument for self-expression. It is a laborious and responsible work for the good of society». This thesis is our philosophy. After all, in everyday life we are not surrounded by sport cars or unusual furniture. Our life is formed and becomes more comfortable with a help of such ordinary things like tableware, which we use for eating; door and window handles, which we touch; hangers for our clothes; boxes and containers, in which we keep our favorite things and delicious food; consumer electronics, which cooks, washes and broadcasts; toys, which bring joy to our children; instruments, which build, repair and simply calm our nerves; equipment, which saves our money, purifies our water, gives us light, heat, security, etc. And other things, which are not always noticeable, but still irreplaceable. Our bureau creates a design for people. scroll down Engineering Engineering – is implementation of a product concept into 3D drawings and electronics layouts, needed for launching the product into mass production. At this stage mutual cooperation of designers and engineers is highly important in order to adopt shapes in line with the technologies, keeping the idea of the concept developed by the designer. It is constant balancing between visual perception, manufacturability and cost of production. scroll down Prototyping Our main principals in approach to prototyping are very simple and can be stated in 3 paragraphs: Materials of a prototype correspond to the materials of a ready product of mass production prototype functioning is identical to the functioning of a ready product outer appearance of a prototype has no difference from outer appearance of a ready product of mass production scroll down Production The stage of production arrangement is complex and versatile, it consists of variety of processes: suppliers selection tooling approval selection and approval of components assembling process arrangement quality control certification and logistics issues As a result, we get a ready product, that is launched into mass production. scroll down About the project: Petcube is a remote wireless camera, which allows to stay connected to the pets and watch after them using the iPhone or Android app. Petcube contains the 138 degree wide angle camera streaming HD 720p video, 2-way audio stream through built-in microphone and speaker, Built-in 5mW 3R class laser to interact with the pets. What we did for the project: prototyping of external and inner elements (we’ve created the first prototype) About the project: Ecozy is an eco-friendly heating solution with touch sensor and remote control. It allows to save money on heating.
