Read more Pesticides from the villages of Dobrosyn and Richky have been removed Submitted by EPSI on Fri, 17/04/2009 - 15:13 Project "Utilization of Illegal Pesticides" Useless pesticides have been removed for utilization from the village of Richky in amount of 9.303 tons and from the village of Dobrosyn in amount of 2.183 tons. The storages of pesticides in these villages have been fully liquidated. As of 17.04.2009, 32.955 tons of useless pesticides have been removed for utilization from Zhovkva rayon. (Shostka town, Sumy oblast) has removed and utilized unsuitable for usage pesticides from the village of Nahirtsi of Zibolky village council in amount of 5.622 tons and from the town of Dubliany in amount of 4.361 tons. Submitted by EPSI on Tue, 10/03/2009 - 14:09 Project "Utilization of Illegal Pesticides" State Environmental Inspection in Lviv oblast, which is the project partner, uses elaborated within the project procedures, forms and hardware products in order to keep records of storehouses with poisoning chemicals in the basins of the Dniester and the Prypiat' rivers which in terms of territory were not covered by the project. The " Map " site was updated with information on the storehouses which were additionally inventoried by State Environmental Inspection. The work in this direction continues, please follow the news. Final seminar Submitted by EPSI on Mon, 02/03/2009 - 15:47 Project "Utilization of Illegal Pesticides" Within the project realization on 24-27 February 2009, in the village of Skavske in Lviv oblast there was the final seminar "Current state and perspectives of utilization of prohibited and unsuitable for usage poisoning chemicals located in Western Ukraine". Representatives of state authorities from Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Lviv oblasts. Their owners have to get rid of them through utilization or removal; hazardous wastes are wastes characterized by such physical, chemical biological or other hazardous features which cause or may cause considerable hazard for the environment and people's health and which require special methods and means to maintain them. Read more In Kharkiv oblast storehouses with poisoning chemicals were burning Submitted by EPSI on Tue, 10/02/2009 - 12:23 Project "Utilization of Illegal Pesticides" On February 9, 2009 in Lozova rayon in Kharkiv oblast storehouses with acid poisoning chemicals were burning. The head of Lozova rayon state administration Serhiy Zelensksyi said that on Monday at about 10 a. m. in the village of Yekaterynivka of Lozova rayon chemicals on the storehouses of former firm Silhospkhimiya started to react with one another. Read more European Unioin: new principles of providing permissions for production of plant protecting substances (pesticides) Submitted by EPSI on Fri, 06/02/2009 - 11:36 Project "Utilization of Illegal Pesticides" The European Parliament adopted draft resolutions as well as directives which will widen the variety of plant protecting substances in member-countries of the EU while introducing prohibition to use certain chemical substances which are used in the production process. Also, there have been envisaged some solutions increasing safety of using plant protecting substances.
