They decided to act… Issues Issue #10 Away from public eyes in grim cells, terrible things are happening to the youths of Uptown. A man who was once proud to serve the system he believed was right and just. That is until he removed its mask to expose the horror beneath. No one knows who he truly is; his records have long since been destroyed by his once employers. Now he leads the group against the system he served. Fair but firm in his beliefs, he is calm and ready for the opinions of his fellow team mates. lynchman Once a man of humble convictions, a miscarriage of justice has left a bitter taste in his mouth evermore. Broken by the tragic loss of his family and the miscarriage of justice that followed he considers himself a man with nothing to lose. Despite being part of the group, when he decides on a course of action it is nearly impossible to stop him. LA FEMME Educated, beautiful and deadly. Her fall from grace is legendary among the upper echelons of high society. After discovering her husband had fathered several children with different women she threatened to go to the papers and derail his political career. But a smear campaign built on false information eventually led to her losing everything, including her two year old daughter. Prostitution seemed the only answer when she came across the group. El principal A respected and controversial academic who ran the city’s most prestigious high school. His political discourse often drew ire from those he challenged. When he refused to raise a student’s grade she accused him of sexually assaulting her. Normally the charges wouldn’t stick but governmental powers pressed for a greater punishment. He lost his job and his academic credibility. lawman A defence lawyer with a 100% success rate doesn’t come cheap. Fast cars, expensive meals and women half his age fill his time outside the courtroom. When the son of the one of the most powerful men in the country needs help, he happily accepts. But each time he commits another crime, each more heinous than the last, it becomes harder to sleep at night with a clear conscious. Eventually he sees no other option but to change practices. But sometimes the past is not so easily left behind. troublemaker Exactly what his name suggests. He is youngest member of the group and a thief by trade. In and out of juvenile prison since he was 14 for various petty thieving crimes. Having never had a formal education stealing to survive is his only way of life. He believes not enough is done to help kids with difficult childhoods. Purgeman At age 5 his parents were killed when their peaceful protest turned into a riot. He grew up in a number of foster homes, but nobody wanted him long. He never spoke, constantly displayed self-destructive behaviours and had a morbid fascination with death. Despite this, he is in fact a qualified doctor and mortician. The living makes him uncomfortable so he smokes to control himself. Inkman The truth can be hard, but as an investigative journalist, it is his job to bring it to the public eye. When he stumbles on a big corruption scandal, his bosses tell him to bury it. His refusal ultimately ruins him when the powers that be try to bury him instead. Standing on the ruins of his fledgling career he decides to start his own paper where the truth is not chained to the wallets of the rich. Villains Clerks A legion, cancer tumor – the ones who form a foundation of corrupted practice. They are not of immediate interest for the squad, as they know that general public will soon join the action and will search, identify and deliver justice. Werewolves The highest machiavellian rank of corrupt bastards who mastered the craft of sucking money out of the system. Clever, cynic, immoral, wicked and bound to collective agreement “Omerta” b/w all other “werewolves”. Team Pimenov Mikhail (Misha) Pimenov is an adman by profession, but a dreamer who is fascinated with the world of 2D graphics, be it comic, novels or animated pictures. Born in Kiev, Ukraine, Misha wants to share his passion in visual art and storytelling with his fellow Ukrainians and the rest of the World. Mooney Richard Mooney is a Scottish writer living just outside Glasgow. However no one on the team has ever met him, so he could be lying. He is best known as the writer of “The Adventures of Percy Nobleman” but no one on that team has met him in person either. He dreams of working at Marvel or DC where likely no one will meet him.” GENYK BELYAKOV A translator, born in Kiev and currently living in the capital. He doesn’t like to “enhance” or “exaggerate” author’s story, therefore all characters speak according to the original script in his translations. Such writers as Hunter S. Thompson, William S. Burroughs, Philip Dick started to speak in “Ukrainian” thanks to Genyk’s translations. Geokon George Konstantopoulos was born in Athens, Greece in 1984 and, as every other kid, he got caught up in drawing his favorite comic and animated characters. Unlike most kids though, George never stopped… he just keeps drawing silly, little, crazy things. OLENA GLADKA A graphic designer with long-standing colla-boration with various magazine publishers. Grew up on stories in which good overcomes evil, and still believes that everyone sooner or later will get what he or she deserves. Rithinor I’m Alkis aka Rithinor and I’m a concept artist from Greece, which means that I like to draw stuff, apparently. I always did to be honest, even though no one from my family remembers when I first started and I’ll make sure to keep it that way.
