News Prev Next Growing flowers with bioenergy in Ukraine — success story from UABio to europeanbioenergyday.eu Bioenergy Association of Ukraine prepared the success story from Ukrainian bioenergy for europeanbioenergyday.eu. According to the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2035, Ukraine is going to reduce the fossil fuels consumption and increase the share of renewable energy sources in the total primary energy production from 4% (in 2016) to 25% (in 2035). In recent years, biomass has accounted for about 80% of renewable energy in the country, and the tendency is expected to stably remain in the future. Therefore, projects that replace fossil fuels (natural gas, coal) with biomass are popular now in Ukraine and their number will increase in the future. One of... Read more Demonstration projects of energy use of wood from pruning and uprooting of perennial agricultural plantations into fuel chips and pellets On December 14 and 15, 2017 year, within the framework of the project "uP_running – sustainable use of wood biomass from trimming and eradication of perennial crops" funded by the European Union Research and Innovation Program Horizon 2020, based on the industrial gardening company Triad-MK LLC and a utility company Vinnytsyaoblteploenergo, which produces, transports and supplies heat energy, two demonstration projects on energy use of wood have been implemented in Vinnytsya oblast concerning pruning and uprooting of perennial agricultural plantations into fuel chips and pellets. Harvesting, transportation, and processing of wood of fruit trees were carried out at the production facilities of... Read more Average weighted tariffs for heat energy from gas for the further establishment by local authorities of tariffs for heat energy from alternative sources On December 22, 2017, State Agency of Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving announced the average weighted tariffs for heat energy produced using gas for the needs of the population, institutions and organizations financed from the state or local budgets. Pursuant to the requirements of Article 20 of the Law of Ukraine "On Heat Supply", the SAEE promulgates weighted average tariffs for thermal energy produced using natural gas for the needs of the population and budgetary institutions, as well as tariffs for the transportation and supply of thermal energy (http://saee.gov.ua/uk/content/serednozvazheni-taryfy). Recall that the Law of Ukraine on the promotion of heat production from... Read more Bioenergy keeps steady growing by 35% per year On 20 December 2017, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine issued the Energy Balance of Ukraine for 2016 (the express-issue N 506/0/08.4вн-17 of 20.12.2017). According to the Balance, the share of renewable energy sources (RES) in the total primary energy supply in 2016 was 4.0% (3.0% in 2015). This growth rate is in line with the annual pace of RES development in Europe. Like the previous year, biofuels and waste accounted for the biggest share in the structure of renewable energy production in 2016 – 81%. The given data show another significant step in the development of the bioenergy sector in Ukraine. For... Read more Starting from Devember 20th, Ukraine runs on bioenergy alone Bioenergy Association of Ukraine, supporting the initiative of the European Bioenergy Association AEBIOM, is launching the Bioenergy Day in Ukraine. In 2017 Bioenergy Day is on December 20th. This means that 11 days out of 365 Ukraine fully satisfies its needs only because of bioenergy. Due to the good temp of bioenergy sector development, we believe that in the next 2018, the Bioenergy Day in Ukraine will come sooner :) Read more Articles of members Prev Next Creation of the competitive biofuel market in Ukraine.
