Feedback from internship program participants
“During my time in Integrites I have worked on several projects ranging from capital structures to EU competition law. The diversity of the assignments was very broad and interesting. Throughout the last four weeks I have learned about many aspects and concepts present in Ukrainian law, so it has been a very informative experience for me. Moreover, it has been the first relevant working experience opportunity and I am very grateful for it. I got acquainted with five days work week, as well as penetrated into the daily practice at the law firm. This gave me a better understanding of the law in practice. By communicating with my co-workers I got an insight into many things of their professional life and work attitude that will benefit me later in my career.Apart from the work related matters, I have greatly enjoyed meeting so many new people and learning about their lives. I have been treated with such amazing kindness and I have experienced true Ukrainian hospitality. It has made me feel very welcome in your country and truly made this experience special”, - Marlies Enderink (Netherlands), LLM, Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, successfully completed a 4-week internship in Integrites.
“When I got an opportunity to pass an internship in Integrites, I didn’t hesitate much and at the first onset take an advantage from this chance. This was mainly due to the fact that Integrites is considered to be one of the brightest law firms in the Ukrainian ‘’magic circle’’, besides it is famous for its innovative attitude towards resolving challenging legal tasks. However, it’s also worth admitting that at the beginning of the internship I faced a lot of difficulties regarding settling legal issues, as I hadn’t ever worked in the International Law Firm before, and didn’t have much legal experience respectively. Considering this, constant guidance from my experienced colleagues came in handy to that extent that at the end of internship I became the part of the Integrites’ team. The motto inspired me the most during internship was ‘’Stay and do, Integrites will give you a chance’’, - Vitaliy Alimov, Paralegal at Restructuring and Mediation Department.
"Entering the university hardly could I believe that a major international law firm in Ukraine might hire a graduate without any work experience. My relations with Integrites began long before the internship idea itself. Integrites supported the "European Law Student Association Ukraine" (ELSA Ukraine), where I was the Vice President on seminars and conferences guiding in the international internship program held in 42 countries of Europe, and acted as our partner in the project International Commercial Arbitration “An authoritive ADR". At the interview I was "at random", but still a flame of hope were sparking in my heart. Crossing the doorstep of the office, I finally forgot my name, even not to mention passing the interview in English. After the interview I ran out with a broad smile. Then I realized that I wanted to work here at all costs. Beginning from the first day of my internship I was totally involved in Integrites’ life, I understood what meant non-standard work day and the professionalism of each employee either in the approach to the client or to the case itself. Six weeks ran out quickly, and it was a turn point - what would happen next . All supported me, and I could not believe that I passed until the Head of our practice started to give me assignments for the period further the end of the internship, and then I realized at last… I became a member of Integrites’ team. It is difficult for me to interpret that situation now, but I was extremely motivated by the words of the Counselor of Litigation Practice, who asked: "Well, it's all good, what you have said, but I'm interested how much time you need to become a lawyer? A year, two, three?". And I answered that six months would be enough. All that said Elena was - "Good". And now these words follow me like a shadow and I am aimed to prove that it’s not just words", - Yulia Ivasiv, Paralegal at Litigation Practice.
"In the Law Firm Integrites my department was International Arbitration headed by Mr Vsevolod Volkov, Partner. Before I came here I didn’t have any experiences with international arbitration. International Arbitration team of Integrites kindly helped me to understand the system of international arbitration, and by a lot of diversity tasks show me how varied and colorful this work is. My main tasks were to make a various analyses and legal researches which could be useful for our cases, also to write some legal documents such as commercial offer for the client. Besides work I was granted the opportunity to attend the Business Forum “Intensification of export to the EU and the US” which was held on the 26th of March at the Fairmont Grand Hotel Kyiv. The event was organized by Integrites in cooperation with foreign law firms Eversheds (Germany), K&L Gates and Arnall Golden Gregory (USA).This internship at Integrites was highly useful for the perspective career in the field of law", - Jana Vahalikova, intern from Czech Republic.
"I worked in the department of international arbitration of Integrites under the supervision of Vsevolod Volkov. My duties included drafting of legal documents and translation, legal researches regarding contractual obligations. I am very thankful Integrites for this internship and experience", - Andrius Jurevičius, intern from Lithuania.
