During a week of intensive training, 28 students from 12 universities had an opportunity to immerse themselves in the spirit of Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition - most prestigious and strongest international law moot court competition for students - improve their knowledge of international law and gain new skills. Students were divided into 7 teams and guided throughout the School by competent mentors, professional lawyers with rich mooting experience, who despite the workload still managed to be with their groups 24/7: Mykhaylo Soldatenko, Stacey Chuvaeva, Olena Serpukhovitina, Iuliia Zaichenko, Vasylyna Odnorih, Maria Tsypiashchuk, Kateryna Busol. The 2nd JSS upheld the tradition of bringing in the top-notch lecturers and speakers. This year 2nd JSS attended Sergey Sayapin (from Kazakhstan), a well-known academician on international law from KIMEP University and David Scott (from Scotland), who currently pursues PhD in Manchester University and has amazing Jessup experience. This year was also peculiar because of the enrolment of the US Jessup organizers, including Lesley Benn, the ILSA Executive Director, and Jeffrey Brooks, the author of 2017 Compromis, who joined JSS online. Also, Olha Asadcha shared her insights on building successful Jessup team and Oleksandr Zayoma revealed secrets how to make an audience listen. The 2nd Jessup Summer School was organized by Marchenko Danevych with the support of top Ukrainian Law Firms, including AVELLUM, CMC Cameron McKenna, EPravo, EVERLEGAL, LCF Law Group, Redcliffe Partners, Vasil Kisil & Partners and Kinstellar. The official venue partner of the 2nd Jessup Summer School became Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Marchenko Danevych holds National rounds of Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition since 2011.
