Dr. Syrota has graduated with high honors from the Institute of International Relations, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University. He received PhD in the same institute in 2004. Before setting up SDM Partners Dr. Syrota was a partner of a multinational law firm. He is leading the practice on various major transactions relating to mergers and acquisitions, investment projects, IPOs and anti-trust law. Dr. Syrota is actively involved in the work relating to preparing drafts of the laws, participates as an independent expert in the government teams working on improvement of the investment climate and economic reforms. Before joining SDM Partners team Dr. Dzis was a partner of a multinational law firm as prior to that – an in-house counsel in one of the major Ukrainian food ingredients company. Serhiy Dzis has substantial experience (more than 13 years) in commercial, intellectual property, and labour law. Mr. Melnyk graduated from the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Law Department. Mr. Galukh graduated from the Kyiv State University of Law and Economics. Before joining SDM Partners, he was engaged as the Head of Legal Affairs and Senior Legal Counsel of an international oil and gas company established in Ukraine to carry out deep water oil and gas exploration, development and production under Ukrainian's first Hydrocarbon Production Sharing Agreement. As the Head of Legal Affairs, he was deeply involved in matters concerning foreign investment protection, and international arbitration in Stockholm against the State of Ukraine. He also represented the company in later settlement negotiations with the Ukrainian Government. His practice includes extensive experience in corporate, tax and labour law and many other legal issues that concern the business activities of foreign companies in Ukraine operating in oil and gas sector.
