Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
FACULTY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
Boosting of production outputs in Mariupol steel factories in the 50s along with introducing high-productive equipment and enlarging its maintenance base demanded for professionals trained in design and operation of complex machines and equipment of metallurgical mills. Under these conditions, the metallurgical institute (now PSTU) launched training programmes for mechanical engineers working with equipment of iron and steel factories.

Departments:
Department of Mechanical Equipment for Ferrous Metallurgy
Degree course in Metallurgical Equipment: B / S / M / CandSc / DrSc
Academic areas: machining equipment in rolling workshop; development of new materials and technologies for repairs in ferrous metallurgy workshops; increasing safety and durability of metallurgical equipment; new design and construction of bearings for spindles in rolling mills.
Department of Strength of Materials
Degree programmes in Professional Education: Industrial, Civil and Agricultural Building Construction: B / S / M / CandSc
Academic areas: industrial and civil construction, pedagogue/ construction engineering, improving performance of metallurgical equipment through prediction of probable failure rates, providing reliable safety for machine parts and units.
Department of Handling and Transport Equipment
