The beginning of January in Las Vegas is especially busy, since Customer Electronics Show is taking place in big venues around the city. The largest exhibition of such kind on the planet, this year it attracted 3800 exhibitors occupying 280000 square meters of space and up to 200000 visitors.

IntroPro works closely with consumer devices like Set-Top-Boxes. Consequently, our delegation regularly visits CES, so CES 2016 wasn't an exception. This year you can find our people on exhibition floors and meeting rooms.

The industry moves fast, therefore, it is pretty hard to keep up with current trends. Nevertheless, when most of the major players in customer electronics are gathered in one place, these trends are easier to spot.

The show remains the same from year to year, but each year the trends of different devices are changing. Especially it is obvious on the startups floor - the small and agile companies usually formed on current trends. Some of them even established itself as a leading companies on the innovation curve.

This year it was all about OLED TVs, Smart TVs, drones, 3d-printing, fitness/health/smartwatch devices. Automotive industry is simultaneously moving in several directions like electro-cars, self-driving cars and innovative head systems.

LG showed magnificent OLED screens. SmartTV and STB manufacturers are experimenting with features and content delivery models to hit the right spot on the market. The competition is fierce there, especially with new players joining the game. The appearance of LeTV on this year's CES was shocking enough to many observers and it caused a lot of discussions in social media and press.

Bosh and VW demonstrated new car HUD concepts and front panel multi-purpose screens.

Ehung demonstrated 184 - an autonomous quadcopter that can carry around a human.

3D printing takes new step in evolution - bigger models, faster printing, more details, printing with new materials (like aluminium).

It was a huge show with a lot to see. There are definitely new opportunities for service provider to media industry like us in the upcoming future - the future of smart interconnected devices around us.
