Vlad Gusev, 40+ years experienced in Computer Science and Software Development, supervises technology exploration group of Embedded Software Department for Satellite Set Top Boxes.
In early 70's Vlad had developed one of the first and the most flexible programming system in the world for simulating combined discrete/continuous systems that was used as a standardized control systems design tool by dozens of military institutions more than ten years. He was a major contributor to the Academy of Science network project to develop INWG-96 Transport protocol station (1980), managed development of UNIX-like OS within a project of a user micro-programmed computer of Elbrus computer family (1988), developed an OOP system based on syntactical adaptability to end user languages (1993), an OOP debugger user-defined graphics animator (1995), intrusion/malfunction detection tool (2001).
Vlad had started his career in Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics at scientific and research positions, later managing Academy of Science Labs activities. He had been holding various Lead and Technical Management positions in projects for Chase Manhattan Bank, UCCON (Canada), Mutek Solutions Ltd. (Israel), Tera Computers, Bonus Technology (USA).
Vlad's skills are based on knowledge of many programming languages (C, C++, Objective C, Java, Pascal, Smalltalk-80, Assembler S/370, Simula-67) and operational systems (Linux, Solaris, Burroughs 1700, BESM-6 Dubna).
Vladislav holds M.S. in Control Systems from Moscow Institute of Physics & Technology (1969) and Ph.D., Computer Science from Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics (1974).
He is a winner of the USSR State Prize for development and promotion of digital simulation tools (1986).
