Учні відвідали віварій, де розводяться та утримуються піддослідні мишки, мікробіологічну лабораторію, у якій проводяться експерименти з дріжджами та культурами клітин, «мушину» кімнату, де працюють з мушкою дрозофіли, та лабораторію мікроклонального розмноження рослин. The event was devoted to the day of the city foundation, and conducted in the city center near the town hall. It has been demonstrated model organisms which used in experiments, namely mice, different strains of fruit flies, and daphnia. Students isolated DNA from saliva, revealed vitamins, changed anthocyanin colors by adding alkali and acids to the extracts. | Print | Wednesday, 10 May 2017 17:25 Research grant from Volkswagen foundation "Cellular mechanisms of healthy brain aging under caloric restriction" | Print | Thursday, 20 April 2017 17:25 On 1-10 April members of Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University: Doctor of biology, professor Volodymyr Lushchak, head of biological department, PhD Yuliia Vasylyk and technician Tetiana Zvarych within the framework of Ukrainian-German educational and research grant for Summer School “Perspectives for young scientists in life sciences: mastering global challenges of the modern society” and research grant from Volkswagen foundation "Cellular mechanisms of healthy brain aging under caloric restriction" visited Tübingen University (Germany). The Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen is one of Europe’s oldest universities. Tübingen is a place of research and teaching. It is also home to eight collaborative research centers, is involved in five transregional collaborative research centers, and hosts six research training groups – all sponsored by the German Research Foundation. The University specializes in a number of innovative fields of research: Neuroscience, Clinical Imaging, Translational Immunology and Cancer Research, Microbiology and Infection Research, Molecular Biology of Plants and many others. The university is associated with some Nobel laureates, especially in the fields of medicine and chemistry. Main purpose of the visit was to clarify the conditions needed for biochemical researchers at the university, establish husbandry and criteria of evaluation of trial rats state and to plan a schedule of further experiments. Participants had a chance not only to work effectively but also to get acquainted with peculiarities of research work at the university. After work they went to the castle, where in 1869 DNA was first isolated by Friedrich Miescher and had a walk around spring Konstanz. The liders of the project are professor Stefan Pierzynowski (Lund university, Sweden), Dr. Danica Grujic from pharmaceutical company (Boston, USA) and professor Jarek Wolinski (Kielanowski Institute, Poland). The main goal of the project is to study fat absorption in young pigs with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.
