It provides a wide range of opportunities for young people and high school students in order to experience learning mobility and non-formal education in Europe and beyond, whereas for youth workers it is aimed at eveloping their interpersonal skills and improving their employment prospects through training and networking opportunities in Europe and other neighboring countries. The main topics of the projects under Erasmus+ Programme in the field of youth are connected with tolerance, multiculturalism, social exclusion vs. social inclusion, anti-discrimination, fighting unemployment, active citizenship, cultural diversity and multicultural learning. In terms of activities, Erasmus+ offers youth exchanges, training courses, short and long term voluntary projects (EVS), mobility projects for youth workers such as contact making seminars, scholarships for students to study abroad and grants for scientific work. Mobility of young people is essential in promoting intercultural dialogue and enhancing social and occupational integration. It is very important as it broadens the outlook of participants, raises their self-esteem, confidence and motivation by taking them from their familiar surroundings to other European countries and exposing them to new challenges. With our activities we aim to give an opportunity to students, graduates and youth in general to participate in different trainings, youth exchanges and seminars that are based on the principles of non-formal education. International mobility projects are an excellent way of improving their cultural awareness, self-management and language skills. Going abroad to participate in different youth projects helps young people to improve their skills and knowledge and it fosters their personal development. At the same time, participants experience the value of cooperation across national boundaries. In terms of Erasmus+ Programme, our organizations works in the following fields: Youth Exchanges (mobility of young people): Youth Exchanges allow groups of young people from different countries to meet and live together for up to 21 days. During a Youth Exchange, participants jointly carry out a working programme (a mix of workshops, exercises, debates, role-plays, simulations, outdoor activities, etc.) designed and prepared beforehand. Youth Exchanges allow young people to: - develop certain competencies; - become aware of socially relevant topics; - explore new cultures, habits and life-styles mainly, through peer-learning; - strengthen values like solidarity, democracy, friendship, citizenship etc; - discover non-formal education. The learning process in Youth Exchanges is triggered by methods of non-formal education which are based on transnational cooperation between two or more participating organizations from different countries within and outside of the European Union. Mobility of youth workers (trainings, seminars, study visits, networking and other projects for youth workers): This activity supports professional development of youth workers, through implementation of activities such as transnational/international seminars, training courses, contact-making events, study visits or job shadowing/observation periods abroad in an organization active in the field of youth. All these activities are arranged in partnership by organizations participating in projects. European Voluntary Service (EVS): EVS is a full-time voluntary service in Europe in a non-profit non-governmental organization. The main idea is to encourage young people to participate in social life through volunteering, to contribute to local communities, to develop skills for life and to promote tolerance, mutual understanding, cultural diversity, gender equality and active citizenship. © NGO Stella 2015-2017.
