GOLAW - the general partner of Ukrainian-Italian art project

On 30 October – 1 November 2016 the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of Ukraine will present for Ukrainians two key Italian operas, "Gianni Schicchi" by G. Puccini and "La Serva Padrona" by G.B. Pergolesi. The premieres will be held under the patronage of the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture and the Italian Embassy in Kiev, and the general partner will be GOLAW law firm.

The audience will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the Italian valuable cultural heritage: comic opera. G.B. Pergolesi has rightly been called the father of the genre opera buffa. In the 18th century, his work provoked a storm of controversy among admirers of the so-called "high" opera genre. But that did not stop "La Serva Padrona" to become so popular that its libretto was sung on the Italian streets. Regarding "Gianni Schicchi", it is the only comic opera in Puccini's repertoire. Its exciting and unusual story is based on an incident mentioned in Dante's "Divine Comedy" referring to the fraudster and rogue Gianni Schicchi, who got into hell for his actions.

GOLAW permanently supports joint Ukrainian-Italian cultural projects. In 2015 the firm sponsored the "Italia Festival Barocco", an annual baroque music festival founded and organized by the Embassy of Italy. This 22-days Festival held in the leading cultural and religious institutions in Kiev, Odesa, Lviv, and Minsk with the participation of famous musical ensembles.

"We look forward to the further Ukrainian-Italian productive cooperation, through which we will be able to implement together global projects at the highest level. Such partnership promotes not only social responsibility of our firm, but also the mutual cultural enrichment, is an excellent model of international contribution and strengthen friendly relations among countries. Our firm is always happy to support art initiatives, both on international and local levels, whether it deals with the National Opera House of Ukraine or foreign Embassies" - said Valentin Gvozdiy, managing partner at GOLAW.

In 2016 GOLAW has launched GO’TALENTS project. It is a unique and profound program that aims to support young creative people who have no money and means to freely realize their talent.
