Click here to view a map of the resort The Mansion The common rooms in the 100-year old Tudor Mansion include the Great Hall with its overstuffed sofas from England, Oriental rugs, and wall tapestries from France. All of the rooms are decorated in the 19th century English Arts & Crafts style. These 13 rooms and suites also provide some of the most spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and the added convenience of being situated in the same building as our lounge and dining rooms. All Mansion rooms are located on the second and third floors with access by stairs only, while the main floor of the Mansion housing the public areas is wheelchair-accessible. The Spa is just a short walk away, but not connected with an indoor walkway. The Mansion provides a perfect setting for a romantic getaway. Beecher's Originally constructed in 1882, this historic building with its shingled, Queen Anne style facade, mansard roof and veranda is ideally situated overlooking the first tee of our golf course. The original 3-story spiral staircase still remains and the 25 guest rooms are decorated with a Contemporary flair, while still retaining their old world charm and design. Beecher's has some of the most spacious rooms at Cranwell and some contain decorative fireplaces and/or large bay windows. Guest rooms in Beecher's are located on three floors accessible by stairs only. The Spa is nearby but not connected to this building. Carriage House Connected to the spa by glass-enclosed heated walkways, the new Carriage House design brings back much of the glory of the original circa 1890s structure. Many concepts from the original Carriage House were incorporated, including the tower, cantilevered floors at the upper level, as well as roof lines and gables. The 18 guest rooms include 15 queen-bedded doubles, 2 king-bedded rooms (including a fully ADA-compliant accommodation with roll-in shower), and one king-bedded suite, all accessible by elevator. The fabrics have soft patterns and rich textures and are inspired by nature and the beautiful Berkshire Mountains. Artwork tells the history of not only this historic property, but the rich history of the surrounding area and the Berkshire Cottages. Founders Located near the tennis courts, Founders is linked to the spa by a tunnel painted with a beautiful mural depicting a natural forest. It features a warm and inviting lobby with a fireplace, 27 guest rooms and suites with whirlpool tubs (several with connecting rooms, wet bar, balcony, and terrace) and spectacular views of the Berkshire Hills. Guest rooms in Founders are located on three floors, with the third floor rooms accessible by stairs. Garden level and first floor rooms are wheelchair-accessible. Olmsted Manor Olmsted Manor, named after Frederick Law Olmsted, the original landscape architect of Cranwell, is linked to the spa by a heated, glass-enclosed walkway. This building, with 12 guestrooms and suites, houses the Front Desk and Concierge Desk. The lobby reflects Cranwell's elegance and luxury while the adjacent, windowed sitting area is a great place to relax in front of the grand fireplace. All guest rooms are located on the first and second floors and are accessible by elevator. Cottage Suites For guests who require additional space and the convenience of a wet bar or kitchenette, we recommend our Cottage Suites located near Sloane's Tavern, the Pro Shop and the outdoor swimming pool. There are a total of 10 suites (with 2 or 4 suites to a building) that are a perfect choice for families or extended stays. Suites located on the second floor of each building are accessible by stairs only. Six Cottage Suites are located on the ground level. These accommodations are perfect for guests travelling with dogs and while the rooms are located just outside the entrance to the spa, they are not connected by an enclosed walkway.
