The Symposium's 90-minute discussions -- which feature national and international thought leaders -- are offered monthly at NDU, off the record and under Chatham House Rule. Past speakers include LTG H.R. McMaster and Gen. Paul J. Selva, VCJCS. The March 20 Symposium will feature GEN Curtis Scaparrotti, Commander of USEUCOM and SACEUR. Focusing his remarks on the contemporary security challenges Iraq faces in the fight against the Islamic State, the Minister traced the creation of safe havens for terrorism to the governance vacuum after the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.
