Installed capacity of phase one power plant is 885 kW. The second biogas plant was put into operation by LLC LNK at BoryspilMSWL in Glyboke,Boryspil district of Kyiv region onJune 4, 2013 with installed capacity of 1063 kW. The second phase ofthe biogaspower plantatMSWL No.5(Pidhirtsi, Obukhiv district of Kyivregion)installed capacityof 1063kWwas put into operationby LLC LNK on November 20, 2013. As at 1 February 2014: The power generated by allLNK LLC’s biogas plants is enough to supply electricity to 8.5 thousand households a year. Thanks to the work of biogas plants, LNKLLC could prevent greenhouse gas (landfillgas)emission: near Pidhirtsi in Obukhiv district, Kyiv region over 6.5 million cubic meters, which is equivalent to greenhouse gas emission reduction of 48.3 thousand tons CO2 eq. near Glyboke, Boryspil district of Kyiv region over 3.0 million cubic meters, which is equivalent to greenhouse gas emission reduction of 18.3 thousand tons CO2 eq. total in Kyiv region more than 9.6 million cubic meters, which is equivalent to greenhouse gas emission reduction of 66.7 thousand tons CO2 eq. On February 6, 2014 LNK LLC commenced construction works for the speedy commissioning of a biogas power plant at the Brovary MSWlandfill (Rozhivka, Brovarskiy district in Kyiv region) and the new power facility at MSWL No. 5. Through this LNK LLC plans to bring the total installed capacity of all these biogas plants to 4074 kWby the end of the first half of 2014. LNK LLC has already made an advance purchase of two new generating units to the capacity of 1,063 kW to be installed at biogas power plants in Mykolaiv and Zhytomyr regions. Power plant construction is scheduled to begin in II quarter 2014. The GE Jenbacherplant in Austria has started production of generating modules. Commissioning of biogas plants in Mykolayiv and Zhytomyr regions will bring the total capacity of LNK LLC’s power plants to 6.2 MW by the end of 2014.
