The expert jury composed of the representatives of the media, retail, fashion industry, as well as the TSUM team, selected the winners in three categories: Clothing & Shoes, Household Goods and Toys, Accessories and Souvenirs. To choose the most interesting and promising brands, the jury held a series of personal interviews with contest participants. At the same time, a national voting was held on the project’s website, in which Internet users could choose which brands they want to see in the upgraded TSUM. The main project selection criteria were the following: commercial potential of the brand/product, clearness/validity of market positioning, optimality of price-quality ratio, team professionalism, the level of company/product/brand presentation, as well as a strategic vision for the development of their business. The winners TSUM UA Contest are: Clothing & Shoes category: L.A.P.T.I — the winner of national voting; Marsala — the winner according to the jury; Podolyan — prizewinner; Finch — prizewinner. In the course of summing up and determining the national winners, the violations were revealed in the voting process for Accessories and Souvenirs category. In this regard, the organizers decided not to announce the national winner in this category. Mykhailo Sakun, TSUM Kyiv Project Manager: "TSUM UA program was planned as a long-term project. The first year has shown that it is interesting both for the Ukrainian entrepreneurs and for general public, which has actively voted for their favorite brands throughout June. We are confident that our contest is a chance not only for the winners, but also for the participants. One of the most important tasks for this year, along with a selection of brands that will be presented in TSUM, is to help entrepreneurs to think more systematically, to reach a new level, which will allow them to compete with the most renowned foreign brands". Yuliia Shelekhova, Founder of U Dress: "There were a lot of interesting, high-quality and promising Ukrainian brands among the participants. And there are just 12 winners, but we saw the potential of the Ukrainian market and we are confident that TSUM UA Contest will last for more than one year: a demand for such a format is quite high, and it was difficult to choose the winners. This time, the jury and national vote have chosen very decent brands as the winners, and we are happy to present the winners of the program". For more details please visit the project’s website: http://contest.tsum.ua/ TSUM Kiev has summed up 2015 The team of metropolitan TSUM started painting and decorating works and leased most of the department store’s spaces During 2015, the TSUM team has fully completed the arrangements for the ground part of the department store. At the moment, 7 stores are already built; the glass dome crowning the department store’s atrium is assembled and mounted; and the escalators are installed. Last year, the restoration of historic façade was completed, including granite slabs cleaning, glassing of window frames and the walls restoration on the 6-7th floors. "The TSUM took known for all the Kyiv people appearance again. We dismantled the metal constructions supporting the historic façade in the end of the last year, and the townspeople could see the façade in its all former beauty. Since the end of 2015, we started decorating works, which will last about six months," - said Mikhail Sakun, the Head of Kyiv TSUM project. Moreover, the TSUM team continues to work actively on attracting tenants to the renewed department store. About 60% of the space has already been leased. The occupancy rate for the categories, where the orders on the collection for sale in the autumn / winter season 2016 are placed at the beginning of the year, is up 80%. On the restaurant floor, the partners are engaged in three of the five planned formats; the remaining two formats are in the final negotiation stage. As for the "Food & Beverage" category, the companies for meat, seafood, bread and other bakery products, desserts and tea departments were involved. The Central Department Store will present more than 400 brands in total. Also, the contestants of TSUM UA - a large-scale program for the support of Ukrainian producers - are currently being registered. The best local producers in different categories, which are selected by an expert jury and popular vote, will receive the most favorable conditions for their products sale in the country’s main department store. "TSUM is Kyiv's main trading entity, so the interest in it is very high both from the customers and from the future tenants. Our main task is to keep the overall concept of the department store and to offer customers a variety of the best products available on the market - says Andrii Mazhara, the Director for the Lease Affairs in Kyiv Central Department Store. - Some floors are already filled by 90%. As for the other spaces, we are in active negotiations." TSUM will keep the structure of its thematic floors. Apart from the traditional cosmetics and perfumes, clothing, accessories and home goods, the department store will also present the grocery department in the food hall format, as well as the floor with cafes, restaurants and a terrace overlooking the Khreschatyk. For the convenience of visitors, the department store offers with two-level underground parking. The total investment for the reconstruction project of the Central Department Store will be more than $100 million. At the moment, $60 million has been already spent for the reconstruction of Kyiv’s main department store, including more than $30 million in 2015. 5 December is the International Volunteer Day Address of Rinat Akhmetov Dear colleagues and friends, International Volunteer Day is an international day of friendship, an international day of love and an international day of warmth. Volunteers always and everywhere respond to people's pain and suffering and rush to their rescue. Always and everywhere they try to provide help consistently. Always and everywhere they manage to help people despite the challenges they face. You have a big heart, great patience, enormous courage and an overwhelming love which is enough for everyone. Today I want to thank each of you for everything you have done for the civilians of Donbas, the most vulnerable and unprotected citizens - children, the elderly and the disabled. I want to thank you for what you do daily for the sake of our homeland and our country. We will not leave anyone in trouble. We have been helping and will continue to help as long as our help is needed. Over this year, our team has become stronger and closer to each other. We are one family. And I am confident that by our joint efforts we will return peace and well-being to our Donbas land. I believe that this will certainly happen. With deepest respect, Rinat Akhmetov ESTA Holding's statement: "Traffic at the Andriyivskyi Descent shall not be limited unless and until all obligations to the residents of the street have been fulfilled by the city” On October 21, Director of CE "Engineering Center" Antonina Petrychenko in response to the request of "Ukrainska Pravda" announced that test operation of bollards at the Andriyivskyi Descent would start on October 21, and a month later they would work continuously. Moreover, she stated that the elements of bollards control system damaged by an unknown person had been repaired. ESTA Holding deems it necessary to state that everything said by Mrs. Petrychenko does not have any relation to reality. First, there was no discussion of any test mode operation to start from October 21. At the public hearing held by us in November 2014 with the active participation of residents and workers of the street it had been agreed that the test mode would last for three months from the moment of bollards commissioning. This will give us the opportunity to analyse the work of bollards and identify possible errors in their operation. However, bollards will not be commissioned unless and until the procedure of bollards operation has been finally agreed through the public hearing, it has been approved by the order of Podolsky District State Administration and the system has been entered in the books of the city. Second, it is necessary to obtain the approved road transport scheme from the State Traffic Inspectorate to start the procedure of public approval of bollards operation. In the above-mentioned public hearing, this scheme has been approved by the community of the street, but CE "Engineering Center" started coordinating it with the State Traffic Inspectorate only in August 2015, after our repeated inquiry. As a result, we lost 8 months. Third, Mrs. Petrychenko states that bollards will be finally commissioned in one month. It is impossible, as both we and representatives of the city must fulfil our commitments to the residents and businesses of the Andriyivskyi Descent: to hold the final hearing and approve the transparent procedure of bollards control, which will take at least 1.5 month after receipt of the approved road transport scheme from the State Traffic Inspectorate, according to the law. After the hearing, Podolsky District State Administration will be able to start releasing free master controls, purchased by ESTA Holding, to all residents and groups of entrepreneurs of the Andriyivskyi Descent, which procedure can also take up to 2 weeks. Only after completion of this entire procedure bollards may be commissioned. Finally, the credibility of Antonina Petrychenko's words can be judged by her statement that the damaged equipment has been already repaired. As a company that performs, and most importantly, finances the repair, we declare that the repair of equipment is far from being completed, and everyone can personally see it having inspected this equipment on the corner of the Andriyivskyi Descent and the Borychiv Tik. All the time we are engaged in the installation of bollards, we have repeatedly faced the fact that officials of different levels make promises that do not correspond to reality. This, unfortunately, has become the regular practice. Only because of the constant promises not backed by the actions we have already spent three times more than planned for the project. This money could be additionally spent on something useful for the city, but it was wasted. For us it is crucial to ensure that the constitutional rights of the inhabitants of the street are not violated as a result of bollards installation. We once again declare that the system of traffic limitation at the Andriyivskyi Descent will not start working unless and until the commitments of ESTA Holding and authorities to the residents and business of the street have been fulfilled. ESTA Holding Starts Reconstruction of Kyiv TSUM Historic Fa As part of the project of Central Department Store reconstruction, the TSUM team proceeds to the restoration of the building’s historical façade in cooperation with specialists of UkrNIIProektrestavratsiya (Ukrainian State Research and Design Institute). “One of the key features of the project of Kyiv TSUM reconstruction is the preservation of historic facades of the building. For this purpose, for the first time in Ukraine, we installed about 500 tons of steel structures, which held the façade during dismantling and construction of the main part of the building,” says Maksim Gromadtsov, CEO of ESTA Holding. “Now we proceed to the most critical part, which is the restoration of the historic façade built in 1939.” The banner and steel structures that held façade walls during arrangement of the underground part of the department store’s building and the first five floors of new building will be dismantled in order to provide an unimpeded access for restorers to all elements of the facade of the building. The scaffolds for restoration works will be assembled instead of these structures. “We continue construction of TSUM in line with the approved schedule and we plan to complete fully the building and proceed to finishing works as early as in November. Also, the work is continued regarding the conclusion of contracts with the department store’s tenants, who plan to sell more than 300 brands of various categories of goods in TSUM. Furthermore, this autumn we launch a comprehensive program to support Ukrainian producers. Each year about thirty winners of the open contest will be able to sell their goods in the main department store of Ukraine throughout a season without paying the rent," concluded Mr. Gromadtsov. Kyiv TSUM to be Open in Late Summer 2016 Based on consultations with major lease holders, Esta Holding has decided to move the opening of Kyiv TSUM to the end of summer 2016. “Kyiv TSUM is probably the most complicated construction project, being underway in Ukraine. We have faced various external challenges on every stage of construction; nevertheless we have managed to proceed with construction works in accordance with the previously planned schedule. Due to current economic and political situation, there is a risk of a slight delay,” Maksim Gromadtsov, CEO of Esta Holding Company, which is a developer of Kyiv TSUM, says. “Retail market has its rules, thus shifting of the opening date on 1 or 2 weeks in the midst of the spring-summer season may essentially impact sales of our lease holders. That is why we have consulted our partners and made decision, being rather safe for them and for the project in general. Kyiv TSUM will be open in August 2016, at the beginning of the autumn-winter season. This decision will let our partners thoroughly get ready for the opening and to offer customers the best range of goods.” As of now, construction of the fourth and fifth floors is being completed at the TSUM construction site. Experts of Ukrproektrestavratsiya Scientific and Research Institute have started to work on the restoration of the historical frontispiece of the building. ESTA Holding will help in arranging Andriyivsky Uzviz into pedestrian area ESTA Holding provided financing for the bollards project in Andriyivsky Uzviz. The project objective is to arrange Andriyivsky Uzviz into pedestrian area. The project is the third stage of the improvement programme for Andriyivsky Uzviz pedestrian and tourist infrastructure. The Company launched this programme in 2012. A new traffic scheme prohibits transit drive through Andriyivsky Uzviz and restricts parking spaces. “In 2012 we promised to take several steps for Andriyivsky Uzviz to become more comfortable for pedestrians and tourists. As the first stage there were renovated stairs to Zamkova Hora. Then a tourist navigation project was developed by well-known Kyiv designer Igor Sklyarevsky. The third stage will be bollard installation to restrict transit drive and parking spaces in the street,” says Maksim Gromadsov, CEO of ESTA Holding. “It was very important for us the project to be approved by Kyiv residents, in particular by those people whose live is closely associated with Andriyivsky Uzviz. That’s why our key condition was to hold a wide-scale discussion of the project by all interested parties.” During several months the project was being discussed by passionate volunteers in social networks, “Public Network of Andriyivsky Uzviz” on Facebook. Then there took place two stages of public hearings participated by residents and entrepreneurs of Andriyivsky Uzviz. According to the results of the hearings, the project and the bollards control system got approval. The automatic bollards will be installed in the upper and lower parts of Andriyivsky Uzviz, as well as at the access way from Vozdvyzhenska Street. The bollards will be remotely controlled by efforts of Podolska state district administration. All residents of Andriyivsky Uzviz and entrepreneurs of the area will be given electronic keys at the expense of ESTA Holding. The bollards will be installed before May 24. The installation and adjustment works for bollards dispatching will be completed till the end of July. The total cost of the project is UAH 1.9 million. Kyiv TSUM Reconstructs Underground Crosswalk in Khreshchatyk Street Stolichny TSUM Company (a part of ESTA Group) won the investment tender for reconstruction of the underground crosswalk in Khreshchatyk Street. The project was initiated by the Kyiv City Administration. Stolichny TsUM got the right to lease the underground crosswalk for repair works. Within this project, the company plans not only to reconstruct the underground crosswalk interior, but also to replace utilities, lighting system, to make it energy efficient, and to place the infrastructure facilities for Kyiv residents and guests of the city, including information terminals, ATMs, etc. “Today, we commit ourselves to reconstruction of the underground crosswalk between B. Khmelnitsky Street and Khreshchatyk Street, - says Maksim Gromadtsov, CEO of ESTA Holding - All works carried out within this project will be aimed primarily at improving the reliability and quality of the pedestrian crosswalk. Our main goal is to make the crosswalk as comfortable and safe for Kyiv residents as possible. Reconstruction of the underground crosswalk in Khreshchatyk Street is a part of our contribution to the development of Kyiv infrastructure”. Particular attention will be given to physically-challenged people. The company also studies the technical feasibility of arranging a separate exit from the underground crosswalk to TsUM. At the same time, it is not planned to arrange the outlets and sales areas in the underground crosswalk. Kyiv TsUM will continue monitoring of the state of the underground crosswalk after reconstruction. ESTA Holding to Establish Development Department ESTA Holding, which manages the assets of ESTA Group, has updated its structure as part of its long-term business development strategy. A key change included creation of the Development Department to focus on the centralized management of the Group's development projects as well as the projects, where ESTA Holding acts as a consultant. Mikhail Sakun, former Investment Manager, was appointed as the Department Director. “ At this difficult time for us, it is very important to be as efficient as possible and respond promptly to any changes in the market. The updated company’s structure enables the fullest optimization of management of the company’s and our partners’ development projects, – Maksim Gromadtsov, ESTA Holding Chief Executive Officer, says. – Mikhail’s experience as one of the key managers of the company, and most importantly the results achieved, give us confidence that all goals and deadlines of our projects will be met”. Mr. Sakun joined the ESTA’s team in 2008. In 2010 - 2012, Mikhail managed the project of Pushkinsky Business Centre construction in Donetsk. Since 2011 he is also the manager of TsUM project. Mikhail’s responsibility was to develop the project concepts and manage the projects at all stages: from assets purchase and construction to finding tenants and buildings sale. “The top-priority goal of our team is to use all the experience gained in the existing projects in order to create the most efficient management system for the projects under development, – Mikhail Sakun says. – I am sure that we have all the resources to do it in the shortest time”. ESTA Holding attitude towards pickets at ESTA and SCM offices On 28.07.2014 at ESTA Holding and SCM offices there were hold meetings against engaging the largest European engineering-building company Strabag to TsUM reconstruction. At the moment ESTA Holding invites bids to select a general contractor for the Central Department Store reconstruction. Among bidders there are several Ukrainian and European companies. The total budget of the project makes up over $ 50 million. The main criterion of selection is experience and quality of works. Strabag is one of the most experienced bidders, with over 100 year’s history. Now we are in negotiation process with it, like with other companies. Attempt of ESTA Holding to communicate with protesters showed that the event has clearly sponsored nature. The aim of these pickets and information campaign in whole is pressure on ESTA to select another company as a winner. On the basis of the aforesaid we consider it necessary to declare – our main goal is to create within the established deadlines a qualitative object, which will gladden the inhabitants and visitors of Kyiv. Transparency and fair business are also important criteria. We consider unacceptable the pressure, exerted upon us. We assure that these actions will have no effect on the bidding results and its winner will be selected in strict compliance with the declared rules and criteria. ESTA Holding will surely inform the professional community and Kyiv public of the bidding results. eng ÐÓÑ ÓÊÐ Blog Subscribe Home Map ESTA.UA Developed by ÌÅÌÎ.UA
