Policy Progress: A Number of Anti-Raiding Amendments Were Introduced into the Legislation

Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted Draft Law #5067 "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine regarding Improvement of State Registration of Rights for Real Estate and Protection of Property Rights" aimed at preventing further use of certain schemes for raiding and strengthening liability for violations in the sphere of state registration of property.

The Chamber appreciates the efforts aimed at reducing the risks related to corporate raiding and supported the development of such act, actively participating in the activities of the Working Group under the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. At the same time, we believe that effective judicial reform is of the foremost importance for maximum decrease of possibilities for corporate raiding.

We would like to thank Ministry of Justice of Ukraine for being open to dialog with business as well as developing such important amendments aimed at protection of property and improving procedures of state registration and we will continue our cooperation in the future.
