Policy Win: Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Creates Favorable Conditions for SMS Charity

On October 6, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted Draft Laws #2297 “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Creation of Favorable Conditions for the Implementation of Charity Text Messages” and #3467 “On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine (regarding Creation of Favorable Conditions for the Implementation of Charitable Telecommunications)” as actively and persistently advocated by the Chamber.  

The Chamber welcomes such important step towards elimination of tax burden in this sphere as well as introduction of effective and efficient means to raise funds for charity, proactive use of the advantages offered by modern telecommunications services. As consequence, this development gives a clear signal that the Parliament values the importance of charitable telecommunication messages as one of the most modern tools to collect donations, which is popular all over the world.
