Schools in Assam

Schools in Assam occupy an important position in the entire northeast. Assam has become a major destination of education because of some of the world-class schools in Assam. School education in Assam is imparted through a number of pre-primary, primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools.
Most of the schools mainly follow Secondary Education Board Of Assam (SEBA). But there are also many schools under Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The medium of instruction is either English or Assamese.
