Off-Road Ability TRD-TUNED BILSTEIN SHOCKS – THE NEXT LEVEL OF SUSPENSION If you’re serious about off-road driving, then you probably know all about spring rates, shock absorber design and suspension travel. That being said, these specs will make you drool: The Tundra TRD Pro Series features lower-rate TRD Eibach springs that help raise the nose two inches, while improving tracking while driving off road. Next, it sports special TRD Bilstein coil-over shocks that have a 2.5-inch body (similar to what you might find on an off-road racing truck). These shocks deliver two more inches of downward wheel travel, and the main piston on these shocks is 60mm – that’s 30 percent larger than the standard Tundra shocks. Internally, these shocks feature 3-stage position- sensitive valving, which necessitated adding a remote reservoir to help ensure consistent damping while helping to control shock temperature.
