West Hartford Seeks Approval To Buy UConn Campus For $5 Million

WEST HARTFORD — The town is moving to buy UConn's West Hartford campus after negotiating a reduced sale price of $5 million, the town and the university said Monday.

If approved by the town council next week, and the UConn Board of Trustees, the deal would douse a proposal to sell the campus to Weiming Education Group for use as an international high school.

Student At CCSU Found Dead

NEW BRITAIN — A student at Central Connecticut State University has died, University President Jack Miller reported Saturday. The cause of death has not been revealed.

"I deeply regret to inform you that on Saturday morning we learned of the death of a CCSU student," Miller wrote in a statement. "The student's parents and immediate friends were notified, and our counselors have met with them.

WEST HARTFORD — Speaking to a crowd huddled under umbrellas and ponchos on Saturday, golfing champion Suzy Whaley urged the 256 soon-to-be graduates at the University of St. Joseph, to find their passion and to pursue it with diligence.
