Yuriy Kurmaz

Chief Executive Officer of Ukrtelecom JSC

Yuriy has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry in senior positions.

From April 2004, Yuriy Kurmaz was Vice President for Business Affairs at Astelit (TM life:)), before the official launch of the life:) brand in Ukraine. Immediately after the launch of the company Yuriy was appointed the Director of Customer Relations. Under his leadership, the new operator introduced customer care system which subsequently received highly positive responses from subscribers and won various prestigious international awards. In 2010 Yuriy was appointed the Director of Corporate Affairs and successfully worked in the field of relations with regulatory and state authorities, relations between operators, and corporate legal affairs.

Prior to his work at Astelit, Yuriy was Deputy General Director and the General Director of Ukrainian Radio Systems (Wellcom).

Yuriy is one of the active members of the various working groups established by the Domestic and Foreign Investors Advisory Council under the President of Ukraine (DFIAC), American Chamber of Commerce (ACC) and Association of Ukrainian Telecom Operators (TELAS), where he made ​​a significant contribution to the formation of the modern telecommunications market.

Education:

Yuriy graduated from Kyiv Air Force Engineering Academy, majoring in Engineering mathematics.

He had his post-graduate studies at Kyiv National Economic University, majoring in Marketing management.

He holds DPhil (Engineering), majoring in Cybernetics, systems analysis, operations research and simulation of complex systems.
