ONYCHOCRYPTOSIS. LASER AND RADIOWAVE TREATMENT FOR INGROWN TOENAILS

What is an ingrown nail?

Ingrown nail (onychocryptosis) is inflammation caused by the pressure from the ingrowth of the nail edge into soft tissues.

An ingrown toenail is a common condition often seen in the big toenail.

Inflammation and swelling are accompanied by pain which intensifies while walking.

STANISLAV
I had an ingrown toenail. It was painful to  walk, the toenail was bleeding. I turned to Medissa. A dermatosurgeon examined me before the procedure. It took him half an hour.  I didn’t feel any pain thanks to anesthetic. Follow-up appointments were scheduled to control treatment dynamics. After a year I no longer suffer from this problem.

How onychocryptosis is threated in our Clinic?

We apply three treatment methods for Ingrown nail: surgical, radio-wave and laser.

Surgical treatment is used when necessary. It includes avulsion (detachment) of the nail. After surgery special anticeptic dressing is applied.

Laser and radiowave treatment methods are less traumatic techniques. They effectively deal with the problem of ingrown nail without injuring the  adjacent tissues.

Dermatosurgeon  chooses proper treatment method after careful examination and interviewing the patient. These methods do not require stitching. Dermal wound healing will take less than a week.

The procedure is painless and is carried out under local anaesthetic, lasts 10 to 30 minutes.

What are signs of ingrown nail?

  • Redness and swelling of adjacent tissues.
  • Pain when the nail or adjacent tissues are pressed.
