Astarta-Kyiv is an agri-industrial holding and one of the leaders in the Ukrainian sugar sector. We focus our operations on production and sales of sugar from sugar beet, sugar by-products, grains, oilseeds and related services.
Main results of 2013
In 2013 ASTARTA sugar plants produced с. 305 thousand tonnes of high quality white sugar. More than 85% of sugar beet for processing was grown in-house.
ASTARTA farms harvested over 2,1 million tonnes of sugar beet . Average yield of sugar beet increased c. 7 % to 56 tonnes per ha.
Milk production grew by 8% y-o-y and totaled 91 thousand tonnes.
In October, ASTARTA started industrial commissioning of a Bio-energy complex in Poltava region. It is already generating biogas to be used by the nearby located sugar plant and potentially by the soy processing factory.
