Winter Olympics Figure Skating The triple loop dates back to the 1952 Oslo Games where Dick Button landed his innovative leap and the judges unanimously awarded him gold. The skater begins the jump from the back outside edge, the edge of the skate on the outer side of the leg. The jump must be executed with a clear style relating to the chosen music and choreography.
