
Quarterback T.J. Yates threw for 243 yards, completing 15 of 20 passes and throwing two long touchdowns to Antone Smith (66 yards) and Freddie Martino (67 yards), as the Falcons closed out their preseason with a 24-14 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
While Atlanta rested most of their marquee starters, including Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and Roddy White, some first-stringers on the offensive line and on defense got in at least a quarter of work Thursday night. Atlanta racked up 343 yards of total offense while limiting Jacksonville to 289 total yards and just 45 yards on the ground.

The Falcons finished the preseason at 2-2, their best record in tune up games since 2010. Atlanta next takes the field on September 7 at the Georgia Dome in their regular-season opener against the division-rival New Orleans Saints.
