Robbie Amell hits small screens this week in The CW’s new series “The Tomorrow People.” Robbie has special powers on the show, and we have to say he has them in real life too. What are they? Among them, the power to make us weak in the knees. To honor this special ability, we’re naming him this week’s Hump Day Hottie.

Check out this dreamy photo of Robbie, and keep reading for more details about him!

Vital stats: The 25-year-old actor grew up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. When he was a teenager, he began acting and also attended the Canadian Studios Acting Academy and Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute.

And if the last name Amell sounds familiar, well that’s because Robbie is “Arrow” star (and former Hump Day Hottie) Stephen Amell’s cousin. Good looks run in the family!

We really need to buy some property in Mystic Falls! "The Vampire Diaries" is set to welcome another good-looking dude to the cast. Michael Malarkey will join the show later this season.

According to Deadline, Michael will have a recurring role on the vampire drama where he’s set to hang out with Damon.

Michael will play Enzo, a former pal of Damon’s who lands back in town wanting to see what Damon has been up to. No word on if he is of the fanged persuasion as well, but he’s described as “a charismatic but tortured figure.” Just what that town needs! More charismatic, tortured guys! His debut is slated for December 5. If you ask us, Damon could use a new drinking buddy. He hasn’t been the same since Alaric died back in season three.

With its proud history of voodoo, vampires, and general occult goings-on, it's no surprise that New Orleans is the setting for the witchy new season of "American Horror Story: Coven"—and its boarding school for nascent witches, housed in New Orleans proper and overseen by several spell-casting, old-school glamazons, is just the kind of thing you would encounter in the city's sordid history. (Consider the existing mythology surrounding NOLA's Ursuline Convent, which is rumored to have been the home of a dozen teenage lady vampires back in the 18th century.)

But for every urban legend that the show's creators could call on to flesh out the upcoming episodes of "AHS," there's also some stuff in this year's series that's based on the cold, hard truth. Namely: three real people who come with stories so strange and twisted that you'll wish it was make-believe. And when you tune in tonight, you'll want to keep a close eye out for...

Man, last night sure put the "origin" in "The Originals"! Plus, two very important secrets were revealed.

Now we know Marcel's backstory! Plus we learned about Klaus' master plan to take back New Orleans, even as Klaus learned about Marcel's secret weapon that gives his former protege control over the town's witches, vampires and law enforcement types.

Let's begin by breaking down the episode's title, shall we? "House of the Rising Son" most likely refers to two different things. One of them involves the relationship between Klaus and "The Originals" Big Bad Marcel. It turns out Klaus wasn't just a mentor, he was a father figure! In a flashback we were introduced to Marcel as a young boy, who was saved from a cruel whipping thanks to a well placed vampiric toss of an apple that knocked a wicked slave master from his horse (and from this plane of existence).

You've been waiting and waiting, and—finally!—the vampire hour is nigh. Earlier this year, MTV News hopped the pond to visit the London set of the big-screen adaptation of Richelle Mead's "Vampire Academy," and you're about to see what we saw. Yes, our EXCLUSIVE set visit will be airing Thursday, October 10 during primetime on MTV! And what's more, an extended look will debut online on MTV News the following day.

And that's just the start of our week dedicated to all things "Vampire Academy." On Thursday, stars Zooey Deutch and Lucy Fry will be stopping by the MTV newsroom for a chat with our own Josh Horowitz, so be sure to send your questions to @joshuahorowitz.

Mindy Kaling is back on the market! Well, at least her small-screen alter-ego on “The Mindy Project” is. After her break-up with Pastor Casey last week, Dr. Lahiri finds herself single in the city once again, and Mindy is pretty excited about exploring all those possibilities and love interests.

“We wanted to mix things up,” Mindy told MTV News, noting that Anders Holm, who plays Casey, also had to get back to his day job on “Workaholics.”

“I hope the fans are upset [they broke up]. One thing I think is kind of cool about the show is even if people like Danny and Mindy, or they want to write about that, people get very attached to the boyfriends,” she said. “It kind of was good because nobody wants to see a girl who is in love and dating a handsome guy for episode after episode. That’s not very likeable.”

It looks like this time around, there's only room for one Matthews child.

The highly anticipated "Boy Meets World" spin-off, “Girl Meets World," recently made a change to their cast, letting go of actor Teo Halm. The teen was set to play Elliot Matthews, Cory and Topanga’s son and older brother to the show’s titular girl, Riley (played by Rowan Blanchard).

Teo took to Twitter to break the news, writing, “So guys, Disney decided that it wouldn't work to have an older brother on the show; I won't be on Girl Meets World. Thank you to everyone."

Klaus isn't the only Original who has history with Marcel.

Last spring's backdoor pilot that kicked off "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off, "The Originals," saw vampire-werewolf hybrid Klaus return to New Orleans, the city his family helped build 300 years ago. He found the town now under the control of his former protege, Marcel, who keeps the witches in check with some sort of secret weapon and lets the vamps party all night, "Lost Boys" style.

Last week's series premiere more or less told the same story, but from the vantage point of Klaus' brother, Elijah. There were some new revelations via flashback, plus that heartbreaking ending where Elijah gets a dagger as his reward for trying to help Klaus. Again.

Tonight's "House of the Rising Son" is the Rebekah-centric episode for all of you who think of Claire Holt as the greatest Australian export since the Hemsworth brothers. Ms. Holt spoke at length with Hollywood Crush and a small group of television reporters about tonight's episode, shortly after an advance screening—in the same room the Brisbane-born actress first auditioned for "The Vampire Diaries."

A princess locked away in a tower, slumbering in a cursed sleep. A tiny man who will save your life in a time of need, but only in exchange for your firstborn child. A withered talisman that grants your wishes—in ways that'll make you wish you were dead. Yep, it's official: Classic literature is absolutely chock-full of things that give us the screaming meemies...and now, 12 savvy writers have woven these old-school stories into a collection of extremely modern scares. The book is "Rags & Bones," an anthology of creepy tales retold by authors like Neil Gaiman, Rick Yancey, Holly Black, and Melissa Marr—and if you're looking for something to go "BUMP!" in your night, look no further than this here blog, where we've got an EXCLUSIVE sneak peek at one of the book's most chilling contributions!

"Awakened" is Melissa Marr's short story, born of a marriage between Kate Chopin's classic short story, "The Awakening," and ancient Irish folk tales of mysterious women who slip in and out of the sea in disguise.

Break out your pointy hats and spell books! (Actually, witches don’t really wear pointy hats...) This week TV welcomes some new witch-themed shows to the fold, the slightly-campy “Witches of East End” on Lifetime and the much darker “American Horror Story: Coven” on FX.

While witches have always played an important role on supernatural shows as of late, including “The Vampire Diaries" and "True Blood,” it’s been a minute since witches served as the main characters of their own series. With two shows putting them at the forefront of the drama, it seems like a fitting time to remember the WB’s “Charmed,” which coincidentally premiered on the defunct network 15 years ago.

(Yes, I’ve previously written about “The Craft.” There seems to be a theme to my work.)
