So Lingo educates audiences about being just that in a straightforward and very engaging monologue. From checking out sperm banks to employing "intra-uterine implementation" with the help of friends and strangers to anxiously awaiting results, it's an involving tale of the efforts of Lingo and her wife to start a family. She takes you inside the heartbreak, tension, hopefulness and surrealism of the experience. It's especially fun in scenes of waking up on Monday morning or hitting the bar on ladies' night, but it's all dragged down by Sam Landman's between-dance ruminations, read by a different guest at each performance. Shanan Custer delivered the banal, time-wasting tales on Sunday night, but she clearly knew that this wasn't very good material.
