This site features a cleaning station, which is a great place to watch larger fish get cleaned of parasites by smaller fish. This camera was made possible by a grant to the Teens4Oceans program by the The Gates Family Foundation in Denver, Colorado. Teens4Oceans , Ocean Frontiers , and View Into The Blue operate this system in conjunction with ReefCam . Reef fish gather in this lagoon just offshore from the East End of Grand Cayman Island daily to be cleaned by cleaner wrasse and shrimp atop coral heads and to escape larger predators on the outer reef. As you watch, look out for these other organisms and projects located on the reef: Look for one barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) in particular that hangs around the lagoon near the camera; it has been seen hunting for prey on the live stream. Spotted Eagle rays (Aetobatus narinari) are also known to fly in and out of view! See that metal dome? It’s a prototype BioRock ™ structure designed and patented by marine scientist Dr. Tom Goreau and built with help from Teens4Oceans.
