Kevin Walsh

Chevrolet SportsNet Central Anchor & Reporter

Kevin Walsh joined Comcast SportsNet New England in 2009, as one of the original Sportsnet Central anchors.  His career has run the gamut of events big and small.  He’s covered World Series Champions at The White House, the NFL Draft, and has interviewed the greatest athletes of our time.  That’s a long way from where his sports career started in the U.S. Territory of Guam, where popular sports included spear fishing and coconut husking.  Kevin was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow Service Award in 2010 from Boston’s District Rotary Convention.  Prior to arriving in New England, Kevin did work for Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia and The Comcast Network.  His career has also taken him to Fresno, California and Hawaii.  Kevin attended Purdue University on a golf scholarship, and was an Academic All Big 10 Athlete.  When he’s not covering the New England sports scene, or playing hockey, he’s often at work on his next book.  His first published book, The Marrow in Me, details Kevin’s emotional journey to transplant, after he turned up as a very rare bone marrow match for a 16-year-old football player he’d never met.  Follow the Dog Home, released in February 2012, is the inspiring story of how Kevin and his dog found his father’s childhood home in suburban Boston, despite no prior knowledge of its location. Kevin is married with two daughters. He lives in the Metro West Boston suburbs.

Kevin’s third book, The Perfect Catch, was released in 2013.  Wrapped around a special fly fishing trip with Kevin’s elderly father and two brothers, The Perfect Catch is a book for men, by a man, and one that every woman will want her man to read.
