The documentary profiles individuals from around the world who continue to live with HIV and AIDS and continue to endure the stigma of the disease. VOA’s Johannesburg correspondent Anita Powell will be in Melbourne to cover the conference. Conference organizers expect nearly 14,000 delegates from nearly 200 countries will be in attendance. VOA correspondent Jim Brooke (with photographer Vera Undritz, left) interviewed Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite on July 2 in the capital city Vilnius. Grybauskaite’s inauguration for her second five-year term takes place this Saturday, July 12. Get the latest Flash player . Patsy Widakuswara is a TV anchor and senior TV producer for VOA’s Indonesian Service. She supervises the development and production of news programs and anchors various TV shows. Prior to joining VOA, she worked at Indonesia’s first TV news station, Metro TV, and at BBC as an assistant producer. Ahmad Fawad Lami is the Dari-language host of Ashna TV . He fell in love with journalism in medical school. “Working in a credible and popular organization such as VOA was my biggest dream,” he says. At VOA, he has covered several important events, including the 10th anniversary of 9/11 in New York. Laura Konda is the main anchor of Ditari, a popular daily Albanian-language TV show. Konda joined VOA in 1998 and is one of most recognizable TV broadcasters in Albania and Kosovo. She was previously a professor of English and literature at the University of Tirana in Tirana, Albania. Vincent Makori anchors the news magazine Africa 54 for VOA’s English to Africa Service. He has traveled extensively as a journalist, covering world summits and interviewing people ranging from African Presidents to a Ugandan who provides a home for orphaned children. Ayesha Tanzeem hosts Access Point , a TV program that focuses on U.S.-Pakistan relations, and On the Line , a show that looks at international affairs. She is also a senior political correspondent for the Urdu Service, specializing in South Asia and security- and terrorism-related issues. Siamak Dehghanpour hosts the VOA Persian Service talk show Horizon , which covers Iranian domestic and foreign affairs as well as the geopolitics of the Middle East. Before joining VOA in 2003, he worked for numerous publications in Iran and has also produced independent documentaries. Navbahor Imamova hosts the weekly Uzbek-language TV program Exploring America, which she played a pivotal role in launching in 2003. Imamova has more than seventeen years of media experience, and is frequent speaker on U.S.-Uzbek relations and U.S. policy towards Central Asia. Gonzalo Abarca hosts El Mundo al Día , a fast-paced, Spanish-language newscast broadcast Monday through Friday. Gonzalo is a leading anchor of VOA’s Latin America Division and is known for his expertise in international politics. Selin Suer Unlu anchors VOA’s Turkish-language live news show, TGRT Live. Unlu has worked at a number of TV stations covering international news as well as in the print media. She is well-known in Turkey for her previous work as a simultaneous interpreter for live shows. Huchen Zhang, a senior editor in VOA’s China Branch, is a host of the daily show Issues and Opinions. Zhang is in charge of the Mandarin-language TV talk shows. He joined VOA in 1991 and hosted its first TV and radio simulcast show, China Forum , in 1994. Alex Villarreal co-hosts VOA's weekly TV news magazine, On Assignment. She started out as a writer and reporter in VOA's Central newsroom, and then became one of the primary hosts of the Learning English TV reports.
