It's a movie decades in the making—a tale of intergalactic warfare where the good guys are kids and the bad guys are bugs. And Harrison Ford is in it too.

The iconic actor, along with Asa Butterfield, Abigail Breslin and Hailee Steinfeld, headline this first-ever big-screen adaptation of "Ender's Game," which hits theaters today. It's the story of a precocious youngster (Asa), who is drafted into an army of children groomed to fight mankind's greatest enemy using their tactical wit and some super-high-tech video games.

Before you ship off to theaters to get swept up in this interstellar adventure, here are five bits of basic training.

Vowing to save her mum (played by “Game of Thrones” star Lena Headey), she enters a dark otherworld she never knew existed. There to guide her every step of the way is fellow Shadowhunter and inevitable love interest, Jace (Jamie Campbell Bower).

Before you take a sip from the Mortal Cup and head to theaters, here are five things you should do.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that any Darcy-worshipper in possession of a free evening must be in want of a romantic comedy.

Behold, such a thing to fill you with felicity and merriment—"Austenland," a new rom-com about an average Jane (Keri Russell) with an unhealthy predilection for all things Jane Austen, who takes her obsession to a whole new level when she takes off for a Jane Austen-themed getaway to England. She sets off with an I <3 Mr. Darcy tote bag and high hopes of landing the Mr. Darcy of her dreams.

With "Austenland" hitting select theaters this weekend, here are five things you should do before seeing it.

The next installment in the chronicles of a certain dreamy demigod and his mythological pals is here at long last. The sequel to 2010's "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" hits theaters this week.

This time, Percy Jackson, the half-human son of the sea god Poseidon played by Logan Lerman, finds himself on the hunt for the magical Golden Fleece in an effort to save his home, Camp Half-Blood, from certain destruction.

While the movie may be the stuff of legend, it's no myth that we have a list of things for you to do before seeing this film. So before you dive into "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters," try these five things:

We love a good coming-of-age drama, and there's no time like "The Spectacular Now" to head to the theaters to satisfy that angsty thirst for witnessing the awkward experience of transitioning to adulthood.

"The Spectacular Now" serves up an unlikely love affair between two high school seniors (Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley) with a side order of darker subject matter (i.e. teen alcoholism). MIles plays Sutter Keely, a popular yet aimless kid living it up drinking hard liquor out of a super-sized cup and working a dead-end job at a clothing store. Shailene plays Aimee Finicky, a shy, forward-thinking, sci-fi geek who finds Sutter passed out on her lawn after a bender. The two begin a relationship that changes the direction of both their lives, for better and for worse.

The film has already generated a lot of buzz from its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this year, and comes out in select theaters this week. Here are five things to do before seeing this movie.

Yes, we realize the meta-irony of issuing a to-do list in preparation for a movie called "The To Do List," but hey, it's happening.

"The To Do List," starring the incomparably droll Aubrey Plaza ("Parks and Recreation"), is the story of innocent and anal-retentive high school valedictorian Brandy Klark, who gets it in her head to sew some seriously wild oats during the summer of 1993 before she ships off to college. She drafts a "to-do list" of various lascivious activities with the help of her friends ("Arrested Development"'s Alia Shawkat, among others) and older sister (Rachel Bilson), and sets out to shed her uptight shell (a.k.a. de-virginize herself). It's based on the real-life misadventures of the writer/director, Maggie Carey, during the early 1990s.

But before you check this movie off your summer blockbuster to-do list, we've already drafted a list of prerequisite activities necessary for you to make the most of it. Here are five things you should do before seeing "The To Do List."

A film adaptation of the real-life sensational story of a gang of Cali teens who stole from the stars and robbed Hollywood of its sense of home security is hitting theaters this week. Bling bling!

"The Bling Ring," written and directed by Sofia Coppola and starring Emma Watson and Taissa Farmiga, offers a take on the saga of the gang's heists in 2008 and 2009, robbing millions of dollars worth of loot from the homes of their fashion-forward celeb idols like Paris Hilton, Miranda Kerr, Audrina Patrige, Rachel Bilson and Lindsay Lohan.

Before you get bejeweled by "The Bling Ring," here are five things you really must do.

The film adaptation of best-selling YA novelist Judy Blume's "Tiger Eyes" is coming to select theaters this week. And while we're excited to see "O.C."/"Gossip Girl" alum Willa Holland take on the role of Davey "Tiger" Wexler, a New Jersey teen transplanted to New Mexico after her father is murdered, we're still in disbelief that no one has ever made a movie out of a Judy Blume book.

After all, she was doing it waaay before it was cool—and probably way before most of us were even born. Despite the time gap, her books are filled to the brim with young-adult drama, fish-out-of-water angst and coming-of-ageiness—all the fixin's for a swell theatrical experience! And thank goodness, Judy Blume's director son, Lawrence, put an end to this absurd lack of JB adaptations with "Tiger Eyes." We hope it's the start of a something wonderful.

So before you take in this inaugural flick, here are five things you really must do.
