We Fondly Recall The Charms Of 'Charmed'

Break out your pointy hats and spell books! (Actually, witches don’t really wear pointy hats...) This week TV welcomes some new witch-themed shows to the fold, the slightly-campy “Witches of East End” on Lifetime and the much darker “American Horror Story: Coven” on FX.

While witches have always played an important role on supernatural shows as of late, including “The Vampire Diaries" and "True Blood,” it’s been a minute since witches served as the main characters of their own series. With two shows putting them at the forefront of the drama, it seems like a fitting time to remember the WB’s “Charmed,” which coincidentally premiered on the defunct network 15 years ago.

(Yes, I’ve previously written about “The Craft.” There seems to be a theme to my work.)

We're Obsessed With Jesse And The Rippers

While this week started out on a sad note, a bit of news has just surfaced that has filled our hearts with unbridled joy. Jesse and the Rippers of "Full House" fame are reuniting on TV this Friday, playing "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (per People).

All together now: Have mercy!

Last month, my heart skipped a beat when my childhood crush, the fictional Uncle Jesse Katsopolis, started up a Twitter account and announced that his rockin’ band, Jesse and the Rippers, were back together and touring. I hadn’t heard them in FOREVER.

We're Obsessed With 'The Following' Hottie Nico Tortorella

It might come as no surprise to find out that Nico Tortorella has us tuning into “The Following” week after week. As you know, we here at Hollywood Crush love gawking at good looking dudes. Nico, as you can see, is very, very, very easy on the eyes (one reason we named him our Hump Day Hottie back in 2011).

OK, we’ll level with you here. There are lots of reasons why we’re really into the Fox thriller about a killer cult—with a Poe fascination—who take their orders from lit professor/serial killer Joe Carroll. Nico just happens to be at the top the list.

Yes, the story is compelling and the twists always surprise us, but seeing Nico play a naive cult follower torn between his best mate (and sometimes gay lover) and his girlfriend (with that pixie cut we kinda wish she’d grow out), is rather fascinating.

'Beautiful Creatures' Has Us Fondly Recalling 'The Craft'

Back in 1996, "The Craft" had it all. Cool goth clothes, a dark storyline about a group of powerful Wiccan teens and, of course, Skeet Ulrich. Oh, Skeet, you so would have been a Hump Day Hottie back in the day.

The film dropped at a time when horror films, teen culture and alternative music ruled the zeitgeist. And somehow this film brought it all together in a deliciously delightful way. With "Beautiful Creatures" opening today, I couldn’t help but recall my love for the cult-loved film and what it represented about youth culture in the mid-'90s. It revolved around four female outsiders who used witchcraft to seek revenge against a group of mean girls (led by Christine Taylor) and, unfortunately, in the end, each other.

We're Obsessed With The 'Les Miserables' Trailer

Welcome to Obsessed, a weekly feature in which we shamelessly gush about our latest pop-culture preoccupation. This week, we're fangirling over the "Les Misérables" trailer!

There is a castle on a cloud. It is where the recently released trailers for "Les Misérables" live in my mind.

I have bruises on my finger from hitting replay repeatedly to watch them online over and over again. My voice is scratchy from the epic post-tralier-viewing shower-singing session inspired by the catchy music. Which in turn, was followed by a bout of tearful belting of "On My Own" into my hairbrush microphone (accompanied by wistful thoughts of my old high-school crush).

I've always been a sucker for musicals, especially epic ones like "Les Mis," which has spawned several film adaptations, countless live performances and millions of crazed fans singing about the tigers that come at night. I'm not entirely sure why I am so attached to a musical play based on a classic Victor Hugo novel about the wretched folks caught up in the French Revolution in the first half of the 19th century, but I think it has something to do with fabulous music and a captivating story that touches on relatable emotions like unrequited love and patriotism.

We're Obsessed With Lee Pace In 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2'

Welcome to Obsessed, a weekly feature in which we shamelessly gush about our latest pop-culture preoccupation. This week, we're fangirling over Lee Pace as nomadic vampire Garrett in "Breaking Dawn - Part 2."

Forget for a moment about all those vampires named Cullen and the werewolves who aid them. We've given "Twilight" stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner enough attention over the years, don't you think? And due to the fact that plenty of folks will be focused on them this weekend when the franchise finale arrives in theaters, I feel it is my duty to once again point out scene-stealer Lee Pace, who I have obsessed over since his casting.

We're Obsessed With Bond. James Bond.

With "Skyfall" hitting theaters this week, 007 is set to once again bust out those big sexy guns of his and add another super-spy mission to his resume.

And I'm about to add another Daniel Craig ogle-fest to my life. I'm positively quivering with anticipation.

The well-muscled, sandy-haired, blue-eyed British actor—the latest in a long line of tuxedoed, martini-sipping studs to assume the iconic role of the debonaire spy—is very high on my list of men I'd like to...meet. Whether he's wearing a pair of leather chaps ("Cowboys and Aliens") or a tailored tuxedo ("Skyfall"), he can steal my scene any day.

We're Obsessed With 'American Horror Story: Asylum'

Welcome to Obsessed, a new weekly feature in which we shamelessly gush about our latest pop-culture preoccupation. This week, we're fangirling over FX's "American Horror Story: Asylum."

I love a good scare that lingers long after I've switched off the TV. One that leaves me hesitant to turn out the light before bedtime or to fully close the bathroom door while I'm using it (so that I'm not cut off from escape should something horrible seep out of a netherworld behind my mirror and try to eat me, of course).

When I started watching "American Horror Story" last season, it didn't really scare me at all. I didn't think twice about turning the lights off after each episode, and I even felt brave enough to utter a few Bloody Marys into the bathroom mirror with the door locked. (Only two though and the light was still on...)

We're Obsessed With 'Nashville'

Welcome to Obsessed, a new weekly feature in which we shamelessly gush about our latest pop-culture preoccupation. This week, we're fangirling over ABC's "Nashville."

Confession: I did not want to watch "Nashville." I can't specify why exactly, but it looked like it might be a touch cheesy or lame. And I certainly didn't want or expect to become totally and completely obsessed with it, no siree. But here I am, plain ol' drunk on its sassy, sparkly, slightly-soapy-but-totally-sexy Southern comfort.

The plot is centered on aging country star Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton) and her struggle to stay relevant in an ever-changing, youth-obsessed industry. Hayden Panettiere plays the evil side of the pretty-young-thing problem in the form of current country sensation Juliette Barnes, and boy oh boy is she trouble; the conniving, career-climbing, man-eating, gives-good-girls-a-bad-name kind of trouble. And despite my misgivings about this not wholly original setup, Connie and Hayden add surprising spice to the mix to make it special. Be sure to keep your eyes on Clare Bowen (who plays the nicer, more innocent Scarlett O'Connor) as well. In fact, I dare you to try and take your eyes off her during the pilot's last few minutes. This young woman is a scene stealer in the making, for sure.

We're Obsessed With 'Pitch Perfect' Star Rebel Wilson

Welcome to Obsessed, a new weekly feature in which we shamelessly gush about our latest pop-culture preoccupation. This week, we're fangirling over "Pitch Perfect" star Rebel Wilson.

If I knew actress Rebel Wilson in real life, we'd totally be BFFs. She says she likes theme parks, mermaids and pink backgrounds on her Twitter page. Those three things define my very existence. She's a hardcore rapper who Shooped with Ellen—a secret fantasy of mine. And since I saw her kick off her shoe in a fit of passion, almost killing Bryan Cranston while belting Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory" on the "Tonight Show" earlier this week, I'm officially obsessed with her.

This Australian comedienne is blowing up in America these days, with large-in-charge roles in hit movies like "Bridesmaids," "Bachelorette" and most recently as Fat Amy in "Pitch Perfect." She's getting a lot of buzz this week in particular from her hilarious talk show appearances promoting "Pitch Perfect." One of them being the aforementioned shoe hurling that made Lady Gaga almost pee her pants.
