Even the most jaded fashion critic can't help being a cow-eyed sucker for a glamorous gala and a stunning evening gown, so this week's Style Superstar pick—who has spent the past two days being universally adored by the internet at large for this amazing look—should come as a surprise to no one. The event: the opening night gala at the American Ballet Theater. The evening's premiere fashionista: Crystal Renn, who was all kind of ooh la la in a cascade of red lace.

Whether in her voluptuous days as a plus-size model or in her current, slimmer silhouette, Crystal has never not looked amazing, but this dress? THIS DRESS. The high neck, long sleeves and all-over lace of the Valentino gown are pure Victorian chic, but the shade and sexy A-line cut make it anything but stuffy. It's a great look for the model, who's never shied away from a high-drama getup—and she's also kicked it up a notch with skinny looped braids, bold winged eyeliner and a simple silver clutch. Our only complaint is that we can't tell where the dress ends and the carpet begins, but that's obviously the carpet's fault.

With Halloween just around the corner, Hollywood's finest are clearly feeling festive: The traditional palette of orange and black has been popping up everywhere on the red carpet this week. But not all Halloweenies are created equal, and while some of these looks are scarily stylish, others are just plain scary. Who earned Style Superstar honors for her autumnal finery? And whose ill-fitting dress gave us a fright? Check it!

It's been awhile since Natalie Portman had a movie to promote, but the Paris premiere for "Thor: The Dark World" made it clear that she hasn't forgotten how to put together a show-stopping red carpet look. This Dior dress with a plunge neckline and embellished tulle overskirt is divine on her, with a silhouette that's a little reminiscent of her "Black Swan" role as a ballerina, and the color scheme is pure fall. Opting for sleek hair and minimal jewelry, Natalie wisely kept the only hint of bling limited to her gold heels—and to the beautiful blossom embellishments on the dress itself, of course. Add in the fact that those kind of look like candy corn, and we've got to give her Style Superstar for this sumptuous seasonal getup.

With the "American Horror Story: Coven" premiere bringing out so many pretty young things for its red carpet, it's no surprise that our Style Superstar is one of the show's sassy witches. The entire cast brought it in such a big way, it was hard to pick just one of the students at Miss Robichaux's to award this week's honors to—but when pressed, it was the woman in white who took it home.

Emma Roberts was a show-stopper in this white cutout Cushnie Et Ochs dress that showed off a peek of her lovely abs. With a glittering triangular clasp on the bodice, super-smokey eyes and her hair swept in a wave over one shoulder, her look was magic indeed...so magic, in fact, that we won't even get after her for sporting white pumps in cold weather.

Between the premiere of "Romeo and Juliet" and the big promotional blitz for "Ender's Game", we're seeing a lot of Hailee Steinfeld on the red carpet lately—and whatever the critics have to say about her performances, there's no faulting her fashion sense. Just look at the sassy pants she sported for a photocall this week: fun, flattering and right on target for a film that takes place in space.

After glamming it up like a Shakespeare heroine (and enjoying some quality hangout time with T-Swift) at the "Romeo and Juliet" premiere, Hailee has opted for more casual and cutting-edge looks during her "Ender's Game" duties, including these intergalactic trousers at the photocall in Paris. The actress rounded out her sci-fi style with chunky shoes, a tailored t-shirt and some brand-new fringe. When so many young Hollywood megastars play it safe with classic girlywear, it's great to see Hailee having fun and taking some fashion risks; we can't wait to see what she wears next, and we're proud to declare her this week's Style Superstar.

Sarah Hyland might not have been up for an Emmy on Sunday night, but she still came away from the awards pre-show red carpet with a victory in hand: the glamorous little minx is our winner of this week's Style Superstar title! YEAH. Put that in your porkpie hat and smoke it, Mr. Heisenberg.

Sarah swept in on a wave of green silk in this Carolina Herrera dress, with a plunging neckline, voluminous A-line skirt, and a gorgeous black Chantilly lace overlay. It's a great look for the petite actress: dramatic, feminine and a little bit gothic, but not so fussy as to overwhelm her small frame. Add in some well-matched statement jewelry and a vampy dark lip, and Sarah was one of the night's most eye-catching fashionistas.

Nothing says "fall" like a sleek black dress and a fiery pout—and despite being quite awhile out of the public eye, Kate Bosworth apparently hasn't forgotten how to work these things like the stylish pro that she is. The actress was on the scene this week for the opening of a Bvlgari Retrospective at the M.H. de Young Memorial Museum, in an outfit so perfect that we were reminded, once again, of why we wish she'd come out of hiding more often.

In this case, it was the flawless accessorizing of her bodycon black dress that kicked this look into Style Superstar territory: In addition to rocking a flawless fit and understated black pumps, Kate opted for soft, shiny waves, a hot pink lip and sparkling diamonds on her wrists and ears (which was only right for a Bvlgari event, of course.) Even for a woman who's known for looking her best in sophisticated, understated frocks, this look is a cut above.

After her big victory at the U.S. Open, it's not like Serena Williams needed to win anything else this week. But a true champion never rests on her laurels, especially when she's got a reputation as one of her sport's most fashion-forward athletes to defend—which must be why she looked so super-stylin' when she took her trophy out for a spin in Central Park.

As a woman who spends most of her public appearance in spandex, sneakers and sweatbands, Serena tends to go bold, glam and feminine when she's not on the tennis court—and this appearance was no exception. With a pair of peep-toe ankle boots to hide her tennis tan, a big gold belt to accent her waist, flowing locks and flawless makeup, the athlete roundly took Style Superstar honors to go with her U.S. Open win. (Sorry, we don't have a giant shiny trophy for our winners...yet.)

How superstylish is this week's Style Superstar? Let's put it this way: We still don't know which of her half-dozen amazing looks to highlight for today's feature, because she's been hitting it out of the park at every. Frikkin'. Appearance. Stop making our job difficult, Lily Collins! You go, Lily Collins!

But since we've gotta pick just one ensemble to demonstrate Lily's fashion savvy, we'll go with the one she donned for the L.A. premiere of "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones"—a Cushnie et Ochs dress paired with white pumps and dark lipstick, a look which practically screamed "sexy and sophisticated," except that sexy and sophisticated people do not scream but rather purr like large cats. The artful cutouts on the dress's asymmetrical bodice gave this outfit plenty of edge, along with a sleek ponytail and dramatic makeup that left no doubt as to Lily's vamp cred and made her a shoo-in for Style Superstardom, and probably not for the last time.

Whoooo! Is it hot in here, or is it just Stana Katic? The "Castle" star absolutely scorched the red carpet at the "Elysium" premiere this week, in a dizzyingly sexy dress that earned her our highest fashion honors. Here she is: your Style Superstar!

With a black lace underlay, bustier top and a silhouette that hugged all her curves, Stana's Bec & Bridge dress was one hot little number—and a look that could've easily gone from "dramatic" to "overdone" with the wrong accessories or makeup. But Stana, being a pro, kept it simple with a messy, casual updo, neutral makeup, sleek black heels and minimal jewelry. The overall effect: sexy but effortless, with a side of daaaamn girl, you is fine.

Her "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" character might be a descendant of the Goddess of Wisdom, but Alexandra Daddario was channeling Aphrodite in a major way at the movie's premiere on July 31. Her fluttery, flirty, feminine look was so perfectly put-together, it had to be divinely inspired—and it's gotta be this week's winner for Style Superstar.

The actress opted for a Diane von Furstenberg dress in a small, speckled blue-on-blue print that reminds us of breaking waves—not a bad choice if you're trying to catch the eye of the son of Poseidon, but an even better choice if you're trying to establish yourself as a fresh, fashion-forward presence in Hollywood. This dress couldn't be a better fit for Alexandra, and the color makes her famous ice-blue eyes pop even more than usual. Love, love, love.
