Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life is definitely for us. That's because, thanks to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, there have been some majorly fine men we've come to treasure.

With the latest installment in the series, "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" opening in theaters today, we wanted to look back at the hotties we'd gladly hop aboard any ship for (well, maybe not Queen Anne's Revenge...) We also want to ask you, Captain Crushers, which of the handsome "Pirates" stars is your fave?

Going to prom comes with some major considerations. What dress will you wear? Who will you ride with? Where should you hang out afterwards? And most importantly, who will you take as your date?

However, going to see the new comedy "Prom," which opens in theaters tomorrow, will be an easy choice. Here's a movie that's not only about one of the most fun rites of passage for a teen, but it also stars a bevy of handsome dudes. It's a no-brainer!

While we'd be psyched if any of these guys showed up at our door with a corsage and then posed for pictures out on our front lawn, we want to know which "Prom" star you would most like to be your real-life prom date?

Of course, this will be almost as difficult a choice as whether to take a black or white limo, as all these boys would be fun to sway on the dance floor with.

Two of "Prom's" leading men would be some serious arm candy, considering this week's "Hump Day Hottie" Thomas McDonell looks like a young Johnny Depp and DeVaughn Nixon is the stuff crushes are made of.

That's not to say that the other fellas from "Prom" wouldn't make for some seriously enviable dates, especially when you have cuties like Nicholas Braun, Jonathan Keltz, Jared Kusnitz and Nolan Sotillo to pick from. How is a girl to choose?!

So Crushers, take our poll after the jump, and let us know which "Prom" hottie you would most like to spend that magical high school evening with.

As we celebrate Earth Day (don't forget to do your part to keep your carbon footprint low—be it recycling, changing your light bulbs or becoming involved with massive environmental efforts), we couldn't help but think of some of our favorite celebs who give extra TLC to Mother Nature year round.

With so many sexy, Earth-conscience celebs to choose from (Hollywood definitely likes to lend a helping hand) we want to know which eco-friendly heartthrob you would most like to hug a tree (or drive around in a Prius) with this Earth Day. Get all the deets on the candidates and cast your vote after the jump!

Fresh on the heels of yesterday's news that the "Hunger Games" movie has cast its District 11 tributes, there's a rumor that another Panem citizen is about to join the fold: Variety reports that Elizabeth Banks is in talks with Lionsgate to play bubbly bureaucrat Effie Trinket, the Capitol representative who gleefully escorts Katniss and Peeta to their almost-certain demise in The Hunger Games.

Elizabeth's already worked with Gary Ross on the set of "Seabiscuit," and after seeing her awesome performance as an evil stepmother in "The Uninvited," we know she'd do a fab job of playing Effie. And unlike some of the previous actors to join the film, she certainly looks the part (yay!)... but don't get too excited, because Lionsgate won't confirm yet whether they're chatting with her (mean!). So while we wait for some official word from the studio, let's discuss: Would you like to see Elizabeth join the film? Vote in our poll after the jump!

What do vampires, rich kids, cheerleaders and a group of liars have in common? They all make for excellent television, for one—but they're also perfect for the written word too.

In the spirit of today's awesome teen-friendly book release schedule (Teen Lit Tuesday!), Hollywood Crush wants to know—which of TV's numerous book-to-screen adaptations is your favorite? In that vein, just how many of our favorite shows actually got their start as books?

Turns out it's a lot. "Gossip Girl" and "The Vampire Diaries," two of The CW's most successful shows, are both based on popular teen lit series by Cecily von Ziegesar and L.J. Smith—though you probably knew that. But did you know "Hellcats" is also based on a book? "Cheer!," by Kate Torgovnik, is a non-fiction account of the competitive college cheerleading world—kind of like the "Friday Night Lights" of pom poms and spandex.

And let's not forget about Rosewood's most scandalous group of teenagers, the four ladies of ABC Family's "Pretty Little Liars," who got their start as a series of books by Sara Shepard. (Not to mention the pilot the network just ordered based on Sara's newest series, "The Lying Game.")

Although we know waiting sucks, passing time until "True Blood" returns on June 26 is a little easier with one of Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse novels. (Yeah, we know they're not YA, but we're including them because we can! Okay!?) Much like "Gossip Girl" and "TVD," "True Blood" skews very different from the books—but that's almost more fun, since you have two separate storylines for the same beloved characters.

So tell us: Which book-to-TV adaptation is your favorite? Vote in our poll after the jump!

Expect 2012 to bring an epic throwdown between two pretty, pretty princesses over which is the fairest one of all: Deadline reports that Relativity Media's "Snow White" has found its eponymous heroine, with "Mortal Instruments" star Lily Collins officially on board for the role.

This puts Relativity ahead of Universal in the race to produce a retelling of the classic Grimm fairytale, since "Snow White and the Huntsman"—which stars Kristen Stewart as a weaponized princess ready to thump some forest thugs, and totally snubs the "dwarves" contingent—lost Viggo Mortensen as its male lead and has yet to replace him. (A tragedy, since Viggo looks so tasty in medieval leather garb.) But while we wait to see which studio gets to production first, we figured we'd throw up a poll: Which actress will make the best Snow White? Vote after the jump!

With all the box office spoils Prince Charming intends to reap over the next few years, he better reward our long-suffering loyalty with a fancy dinner at Per Se and a new pair of glass slippers.

There's no denying fairy tale movies are a total thing right now, and there's yet another to add to the burgeoning list. (One, we should add, we're pretty psyched about.) "True Grit" star Hailee Steinfeld is reportedly attached to a "Sleeping Beauty" script floating around Hollywood!

Deadline describes the screenplay as "a revisionist take on the fairy tale that will give Steinfeld a lot more to do than nap while waiting for a charming prince's peck to awaken her from a witch's curse. The new version is told from her point of view as she enters the dream world and has to find her way out." (If you ask us, the flick sounds like a spell-bound version of "If I Stay" or "Wake," but whatever).

Earlier this week, "Pretty Little Liars" aired its season finale—the second most-watched episode of the season. I was one of the millions who tuned in to see if the girls would finally solve the mystery of Alison’s murder. Who wasn’t shocked when it was revealed that Ian’s body mysteriously disappeared and A was still out there? With eight novels in the young-adult series, I’m sure there’s enough material to go on for many seasons to come. But could the Rosewood girls be sleuthing for Alison’s killer on the big screen?

In a recent interview with Deadline, series writer-producer I. Marlene King was asked if the series could segue into a feature film. (Ummmm, yes please!)

It was a night of firsts for our favorite Fox musical series. Though the Kurt-Blaine kiss was undoubtedly the highlight of the hour (seriously, my jaw dropped), New Directions scored big with two original songs that clenched the Regionals title.

Now, I'll be the first to admit I was a tad dubious when I heard the news McKinley Highers would perform tunes written specifically for the show. Because really, half the fun of "Glee" is singing along to well-worn lyrics and marveling (and sometimes cringing) at new spins on old favorites. But, surprisingly, I did enjoy both "Get It Right" ("penned" by a heartbroken Rachel Berry) and "Loser Like Me" (the by-product of New Directions' collective Coach Sylvester bullying angst).

But after a strong initial showing, can we expect more original tunes to come? "Glee" music producer Adam Anders says maybe. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Adam admitted, "Obviously [Ryan Murphy's] setting up Lea as a songwriter so you’ll see her writing songs from time to time. But every week? No. I mean [Ryan] hasn’t said either way to me but if I were to guess I’d say no."

With the fate of original music on "Glee" uncertain, we got to wondering what you think, Crushers. Do you want to hear more unique tunes on the show? Vote in our poll after the jump!

We here at Hollywood Crush have been hesitant to cast our vote for who should play "Hunger Games" hotties Gale and Peeta before we know who will play Katniss. After all, age and chemistry are big factors here!

That being said, there are no shortage of actors hoping to hear their name called during the reaping. Alex Pettyfer and Liam Hemsworth are just two of the fresh faces that have been thrown into the arena for consideration, and now there's another actor dying to be a part of the action.

Entertainment Weekly caught up with Josh Hutcherson (who played the son Laser in 2010's Oscar-nominated comedy "The Kids Are All Right") at the SXSW Festival over the weekend, where he was promoting his upcoming horror/comedy flick "Detention."

And while the cute, up-and-coming star had plenty to discuss about his new movie, all talk soon turned to Peeta.

Josh, who told EW he has read an older version of the "Hunger Games" script and met with director Gary Ross, is doing what so many others in young Hollywood are doing: waiting. "I love Peeta," he said. "The character is so much who I am—self deprecating, a people person. And he’d be such a great character to play!"
